Help with sd card please?

Now this is going to sound so stupid and yes i have read through the link2sd guide but i still need help.

When i get to this point: click & hold the end of the bar (right hand side) and drag it back untill the unallocated space after: says 507.54 MB then press ok

What would the best unallcoated space after be for a 8gb sd card?

messed up so many times through this haha, also if there is a better alternative to link2sd please share.
