Possible bug/feature or just a duff 'phone?

Twice now my 'phone has failed to charge when put in it's cradle.

First time I didn't notice until I got to work (good job I got a USB charging cable).

Second time was just now.

Got the low battery alert (why doesn't it have an audio alert like Nokia 'phones?) and when I put it in the cradle (repeatedly) nada - active sync worked though, reducing the battery further.

As a last resort I powered the phone off, took it out of the cradle and replaced it.

Voila! it started charging again.

Any body else seen this behaviour?

Yeah, very close to what I got except I still had one bar.

That'll be a bug then!
