Guest hugobosslives Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Hey blade community, guess who's back....... some of you may remember I left my blade in the back of a taxi a couple weeks back and then when I phoned the driver he decided to keep it..... belend. anyways, I then blocked the phone and remotely wiped it :D since he realised he couldn't use it any more he handed it into the taxi company and long story short, I HAVE IT BACK! since losing it I got a zte skate (OMC) and have been loving it. Turning the blade on today was a shock and a half. The screen seems tiny! But I know the power of the blade so can't wait to get back into this community. Here's to keeping the blade community going well till at least the end of the year :D
Guest rwalton159 Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Nice one. I like the the look of the big screen on the new phone you have. Isn't the phone as good as the blade though?
Guest jventura Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 (edited) anyways, I then blocked the phone and remotely wiped it :D Hi, lucky you! how did you do it, block and remote wipe? Is there an app for that? Thanks Edited February 19, 2012 by jventura
Guest NELLY11 Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 welcome back. glad he saw sense in the end!!!! what software did yoiu use to do this to the phone cheers
Guest targetbsp Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 There's dozens of apps for that. :) Some discussed here: http://android.modaco.com/topic/351444-good-antivirus-with-phone-locator/
Guest hugobosslives Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 i did twice (just to make sure with the guy couldn't use it) first a memory wipe with the avast internet security app (which by the way, is a dam good app for rooted users if you install it properly) I then did it with a tasker profile (root) that I remembered I set up ages as an experiment. when I got the phone back it was litrally completely wiped so I know it worked :D got a night of flashing ahead. trying to decide whether to go back to cm9 or check out one of the new gingerbread roms which have cropped up this year (as i was on cm9 since before crimbo, upto when i lost it) any recommendations haha? think (for the time being) I am going to keep both phones and hang around both forums. I prefer the skate as the screen is alot better than the blade (put them side by side, it shocked me) plus 5 finger touchscreen is pretty good for multitouch. and in terms of power it is quite an improvement even on the same chipset. My skate can nearly hit 1GHz stable whereas by blade was normally clocked at 748mhz. the extra quarter ghz gives it that smoothness and responsiveness around the OS that rivals my gf's lg optimus 2x (not stock for those who know the crap lg OS). thought I had left this particular community so it makes me smile to be back. now i'm downloading the latest cm9 to test out and whilst i'm doing that my laptop is compiling cm7. now all i have to do is sit back and crack open this can of draught guiness and remember why the blade is such a good development device :D
Guest youngsta2010 Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 (edited) Avast has got some pretty good anti-theft features and if you're rooted it can install to the /system partition so it will survive a factory reset, it also has a seperate app that disguises itself and hides. It has one pretty major flaw tho so someone who knows about it can easily disable it. edit: I think it's more a flaw of android than avast tho. Edited February 20, 2012 by youngsta2010
