So i know this has nothing to do with the skate (well other than it being a zte phone)

but have any of you guys heard of zte's latest android offering? the mimosa X (yer i know, weird name)

it actually sounds pretty awesome.

it has the nvidia dual core tegra chipset with an improved GPU.

it also has a skate sized 4.3 inch display but with a better 960 by 540 qHD resolution.

It gets even better, it will run android 4.0 (ICS) out the box and will even sport nvidia's new icera modem.

get out the link below for a pic and some info.

edit: they pulled the above link. wonder why? i'm guessing it will be announced at MWC so we just have to be patient

no idea if this is hitting the UK in Q2 when it launches but it has been rumoured for a global release so some of us will probably get lucky.

thoughts?

EDIT 2: so the phone is now covered again on androidpolice, droid-life and intomobile (to name a few) seems no one knows where it will be realsed but it sure looks good:

Wow. Looks brilliant. But I think it'll be a bit out of my range.

I also read this might be using the 4G/LTE network . Might not see it in the UK until 2013. sad.gif

Unless it has a 2000+mAh battery I won't be pickling one up.. 2500mAh would be ideal for those specs, think it will be from £250

Price point depends on the operator I suppose, probably be Orange again, unlocking should be straightforward (we'd hope) now the Skate and Blade II are sorted.

Can't see ZTE pricing it in direct competition to the current budget handsets, so I'm guessing upwards of £170 simlocked by the operator, more if sim free.

Might be tempted, but wasnt planning on upgrading/renewing my contract as my giffgaff sim is ready to roll from the end of the month.

its uses a totally new radio that can only connect to HSPA+? not sure what they mean by that, but if its what is says it wont work in the uk for another year...

if it's on orange and under 200 (say 160-180ish) and works in the UK then i am getting one.

looks pretty sexy aesthetically as well.

this could well be my device for ICS and my first jelly bean phone ;) when it comes out

I'm pritty sure they just mean its hspa+ and not LTE, so it should work in uk .... I still say it will be 200 to 250 considering you can get dual core tegea 2 phones from £200
