Guest eirlysbill1 Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 Hi All, I'm sure there may be a simple solution to this, but I couldn't find it by searching the web. Every time I rotate my phone from profile to landscape, while using Opera Mobile (not mini) browser, it crashes. This is a recent issue, as I was always able to rotate the screen in this browser. (just tried to open the browser in landscape first... no joy, won't open) Any ideas why? This happens every time, but there is also a sporadic fault that may, or may not, be related: When choosing a wallpaper from the gallery, and I try to open an image, and sometimes it switches back and forth between trying to open or close (so fast that it flickers on the screen) This happened a few times and then one time I rotated the phone to landscape... and it stopped. I was then able to see the opened image in both profile and landscape after that. I can confirm that this worked more than once to stop the fault. I have an OLED Blade tpt'd to GEN2, overclocked to 748mhz, and running Swedish Snow RLS4b, along with a few of KonstaT's add on's and a theme that's made for the rom by someone else. Cheers, Bill PS: I didn't know where to post, this cause I wasn't sure if this was a rom bug or not
Guest eirlysbill1 Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 SOLVED? I un-installed a font enlargement app called Big Font (don't worry your day will be coming all you younguns) The result wasn't immediate (no idea why) but the Opera browser is now playing nice in landscape. Interestingly, Apparatus (a game that only runs in landscape) wouldn't open at all, until I reduced the font size in the above app. Which led me to suspect this app. I'll try to re-install Big Font later to see if the problem returns, and I'll report back. All the best, Bill
Guest Roph Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 I've never heard of Big Font before, but if it works by altering LCD density, that will cause issues with many apps.

Yeah, that seems to be the case. In the Big Font settings you can actually choose apps to ignore, in the event they don't like the larger font. I had tried ignoring Opera before writing all this, but no joy. Funny thing is that I re-installed Big Font and its all ok again, as it was for the week or two I had it on the first time. No comprendo. Here's the link if you are interested. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.bfont&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5hMHNvZnQuZ3Bob25lLmJmb250Il0.
Guest claude4 Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 THANK YOU Bill, I have the same issue with Big Font, went through the steps you did (uninstall, Opera rotates fine) and then reinstalled Big Font and unfortunately Opera Mobile crashes on rotation again. I emailed the developer and shared your post along with my issue, hoping an update to BF will come some day and address this issue. Thank you for taking the time to post this as I had Googled a while back and got no results to this. VTY, Claude H.
