Microphone position problem

Hello All,

I have bought ZTE Skate from Vodafone, and accidentally I have got a phone call while I am working on the PC with both hands so I have went to the normal position in which I hold the phone between my head and sholder I found that the other party is not hearing anything changed the position, he hears me, then I have started to investigate about this issue I could not find any one who talked about it, I returned it to Vodafone they offered a new one but I have tested it there and the same problem exsits, I've got my money back but I am still interested in the phone so did anyone ealse face this problem or have an explantion for it?

I have a Samsung Jet and I didn't face this problem and I have tried it again and everything is fine, so is it you get what you pay for?

P.S. I was reading the user's manual and i have found the attached image

The mic is a small hole on the bottom of the phone if you didn't know the position.

I know its position but when I am holding the phone by my sholder and head only and talking with a normal voice tone the other party dose not hear anything

however, why you still interested in the phone ?? what is the significant features or unique feature of this phone make you attached to it ..??

strange problem

you my be closed or coverd the mic hole by your head or sholder

however, why you still interested in the phone ?? what is the significant features or unique feature of this phone make you attached to it ..??

I thought it might be a microphone issue but I have tried another unit at vodafone store and I found the same problem, however the phone has some great features and it satisfies the equation value for money and it is half the price of Samsung Galaxy S2 with the same screen size and a decent features set.

Me too, If I hold it between shoulder and ear, non handed as it were, the other person cant hear me.

Same problem here. I realised that people can only hear me when I'm on speakerphone.... anyone else found this?

Yes, same problem here.

It looks like a design problem. If you change the position of the phone relative to mouth the mic does not capture anything.

Big fail, but I still like this phone.

Just realised it's just something wrong with the mic. I can hardly hear myself when I record my voice, and it sounds completely muffled. Do you think I should try cleaning it?

No I have tried to clean it via a blower and it didn't work.

there's a mic on the back of the phone.. its possible this is used when in call and its been blocked when holding it with your shoulder and neck

try a different voice recorder from the market, the stock one is crap and barley works
