Hi everyone,

I have followed the guides on this to successfully unlock my OSF2 and install the Fish n' chips ROM. What I'd like to do now is use my root access to move more apps to the SD card, to free up a bit of space. However, I can't get to CWM recovery (go to blue recovery or FTM instead), so can't carry out some app to SD guides I've found. I was wondering is there another way to partition my SD card and be able to move the apps over.

If I've understood you correctly, You don't need to use CWM etc to move your apps. you can do it via Force2SD or Move2SD (root only)

Hope that helps.

I believe that Fish n Chips has A2SD enabled in which case apps will automatically be installed to the ext partition on SD card - however they will appear to be on the internal storage. You can check if A2SD is enabled by installing A2SDGUI https://market.andro...e=search_result from market. Link2SD works in a very similar way but if A2SD is enabled then, I think I'm right in saying that they shouldn't be moved to the SD card by other apps. It's a bit confusing but you will find more details here http://android.modac...-for-your-apps/ from someone who understands it better than I .

I have fish'n'chips installed. By creating and ext2 partition on SD card will this mean that I can move apps to SD that were not previously movable before. Also does all of the data for applications reside on the SD card instead of being split between SD and phone memory.

If you're after Darktremor A2SD and have no intentions of putting CWM recovery in, the other option is becoming proficient in ADB and pushing the Darktremor scripts across. You can find them in my A2SD CWM update.zip, just unzip it and push anything in the system folder across. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?e69w1wxegx5ak4f

You might also want to chmod them to 0777 to be on the safe side.

I'm pretty sure A2SD is already in FnC. To answer your questions 1.Yes & 2. No - whichever method you use part of the app will remain on internal. Look at the last couple of pages posted by DennisElbow onFnC topic - it'll probably give you all the info. you need.

A2sd are already installed with f+c for a easy way of moving apps download terminal emulator form the market.

Open the app and type.

Then type a2sd reinstall.

After reboot type

su

Then type a2sd cachesd ( only if more space is needed.

Edit. This works with a partitioned s.d card.

Thanks everybody. I messed up partitioning of the SD card, gave the ext2 far too much space. I tried to reduce it but it didn't work. I decided to format the card and go with a fresh install of F&C release 5. This has worked and apps are now moved on install to sd card. The internal memory still goes down slightly, but not by lots.
