Fix unknown number issue

Having rooted and unlocked my Orange Monte Carlo and got it looking and behaving as I want, I was irritated by my Vodafone network number not showing up in the 'About phone' stats. So I googled the problem and found a fix. You will need an older phone - I used my first generation LG Viewty - into which put your chosen network sim card. Navigate to the settings and then the 'my number' field. If this area is blank, enter network number and SAVE. Take the card out and return it to the unlocked phone and go into 'About phone' where you should see the number.:D

I tried this app and it threw up an error message at installation, which is why I googled the problem. A fix is a fix however achieved.:rolleyes:

You can change it in Ice Armor III and probably CM. Go to settings/call settings/additional settings/my phone number

There is a box in the top right of the page where you can enter text to search for an app, it's quite handy actually https://market.andro...y+number&c=apps

Edit: I'm assuming the app is actually called "My Number", which is in the market

Quite a few apps found when searching for phonenumber...

Anyway, the app didn't add the number to SIM. Still displayed as 'Unknown number'.

Gonna try with an older phone.
