Nandroid Restore Question- Wipes Required? (+1 for great answer!)

Just a quick q, I'm away from my pc, does a nandroid backup work with s2e/Link2SD or my ext3 partition- will it restore all the data, etc, to the correct partitions?

If I want to try out a new ROM, and I nandroid back-up the one I am currently on (being CM7, wanting CM9), can I simply restore it via CWM and not run out of memory, or not corrupt anything, etc, if most of the apps I had are on the EXT3 partition?

I can answer any questions ;)

One more question- do I need to wipe cache, dalvik cache and the whole kaboodle as if I was installing a ROM when I do a Nandroid restore?

Wonderful! That'll work for CM9 to CM7, right?

(By the way, there's your +1)

Yes I can put more in, :) You don't have to wipe because when you restore a nandroid it basically overwrites all of the partitions, therefore there is no trace of what was there before ;)
