Guest Frankish Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 I'm sure most of us here have tried tilals ICS rom by now and are loving android 4.x! I know i am. I thought it would be interesting to know what us Skate guys think of ICS in general now? And also what you think of Tilals latest build. A good little discussion :D ICS General: I love that they added smart dialler! Finally don't need to download a replacement. I love having the softkeys just like a Galaxy Nexus they look nice and are functional. I can't seem to figure out how to get the SMS app to display my own picture which annoys me as it's just a grey silhouette! I feel like i can't go back to Gingerbread now as ICS is such a good update. It's smooth and clean and i love it! Tilals Latest Build: Running the build from the 28th Feb. It runs fantastic most of the time and i can't see me going back to any other rom or build until maybe an update is made to his MIUI port. I do get random reboots but i'm in the process of formatting SD card and going to do a full clean install and not restore any old apps. A new start! No overclocking or anything. I do get a lot of slowdowns on the keyboard even after changing to Go Keyboard sometimes i can type out a full sentence then sit and watch it slowly catch up with me :D Also find it odd that calculator only starts when i flip the phone upside down?! All in all i think Tilal is doing a great job and i just look forward to each new release, i'm currently itching as i have had this release on for two days now Now what about you guys?!

I too am looking at a fresh start on the rom and have today ordered a new memory card and intend to reinstall fresh apps rather than restoring using titanium back up. I have today for the first time in cm9 overclocked it, seem to run stable at 960mhz and in fact havent had one reboot since even when playing games. It is a great Rom and am looking forward to its continued development and am very proud of it, even though I havent done anything other than test it and report back a few results. Most of all I am so proud of tilal and would like to thank him very much for his brilliant work. Having looked him up, and seeing that he set up his first website at the age of 8, I feel we are in the company of a genius and a future star, if he's not one already. Thanks so much for your brilliant work young man. Andrew
Guest plegdroid Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 top rom, gingerwhat? I've not taken this off since the 22.02 build and can't see me doing any time soon. I've a taste for ics and I like it, just so much going for it. you've got to live with it to love it :D
Guest Anthony1989 Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 I've tried this rom and I can say it is superb, only reason I don't use this rom daily is because there is no camera, I need the camera because of my daughter (first words, first steps) but other than that it is a great rom.

Exact reason why i got rid of my skate and got a phone that can do hd, one thing I don't like about ICS is the way the Widgets are in the app drawer, I like it the old way seems less cluttered Edited March 6, 2012 by tillaz

Guest tillaz Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 My times nearly up on the skate aswel, been looking at a few phones and I'm thinking towards a s2 or the Sony xperia s i would wait and see what the price of the new zte dual core and quad core phones are, they all record in 1080p and could be at a cheap price, cheaper than Samsung Sony or LG i would guess

Guest plegdroid Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 @frankish, evening mate, to set your picture within sms, go to contacts, look at the first contact in the contact list, that is your profile, just tap to edit and add your own picture ect, :)
Guest JThumar Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 What is this nova thing ? Can you post few screenshots mate !! Will give it go on the new release with cam fix afternoon mate,if you use Nova launcher ,you can add Widgets by long pressing desktop and they show in a list format and not from the app drawer :)
Guest plegdroid Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 What is this nova thing ? Can you post few screenshots mate !! Will give it go on the new release with cam fix Nova launcher, it's enhanced trebuchet, with more options, free from market, I tried to screenshot the widget list, but as soon as you press the power button to take it, it clears the widget list, it's more like what you'd find on gingerbread.

Cheers. And yes Nova launcher is just the BEST available modification of stock ICS launcher. Improved in every way and much better than trebuchet included with CM9. :)
Guest plegdroid Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 Ahh! Cheers. And yes Nova launcher is just the BEST available modification of stock ICS launcher. Improved in every way and much better than trebuchet included with CM9. :) just bought Nova prime, worth the out lay for the extra features, especially like the swipe features so can hide, unhide notification bar to get a little screen back, and the two finger gestures( haha)very nice to launch pretty much what ever you want .iam not going back to gingerbread, so treating the outlay as a bit of a treat and an investment for my user experience. recommended!

Guest FatLadZ Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 My times nearly up on the skate aswel, been looking at a few phones and I'm thinking towards a s2 or the Sony xperia s My times up opted for the S2 for lots of reasons and ICS being the main reason :)

Guest razzmataz1478 Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 (edited) Is skygo working now on skate ? You can watch sky news on any rom with a cm7 base. Not working on any stock based rom or ics Edited March 12, 2012 by razzmataz1478
Guest plegdroid Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 a nice reassuring quirk I've noticed, is during the boot animation the back button will flash red once, then mid boot the phone will give a little kick, followed by the animation freezing, then desktop, it's comforting that it's got a sequence of markers you can follow to know how far into a boot you are and know that to expect, don't know if it's design, but it is welcome :)
Guest felystar Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 Hey guys, have you seen something different in the ICS ROM reselased 9 of March? I mean, like a more fluently working space. What else?
