need some advice please

i have a old zte blade oled screen that is running flb-froyo r7 and has been for about a year i am wanting to update the rom but having not been about for some time im a little confused about it all with all this gen1 gen2 gen3 stuff so can i get a recommendation for a rom that will be simple to install over this one (dont care if it changes my phone to gen2 or gen3 as long as it works ok)

i would like the bar at the top with battery ect to be black like the one i have now and the dialler/contacts to be able to link to facebook like the one i have now any advice would be great

In the principle of "teaching a man to fish", I think you need to know the "gen1 gen2 gen3 stuff" so you can decide for yourself what rom you want to use.

You don't even have know what generations really mean...I don't.

Many roms will only work on certain generations -- so you just need to know what generation your device is.

Download the app "Ask Mr Pigfish" from the market. It will tell you your generation. If your phone is not gen2, I suggest you upgrade to gen2 since most roms are for gen2.

Whilst the newer roms are gen2 only, there are still a few good roms that support gen1. I suggest trying one of those first, e.g. Moldovan mile high mountain pie. If you find this works ok then there is no need to change to gen2/3 until a killer rom comes along that requires gen2/3 (probably when ICS is fully functional). I think you might need to add a different contacts app in order for facebook sync to work, details are on the rom page above.

Remember to back up everything you wish keep before starting.

thank you i was looking at that rom and i went for it this morning it was the dialler that was all ready in the rom that connects facebook (its same dialler i had on my old rom)
