CWM 5.0.2.0 Could not mount sd-ext

Running Swedish Snow RLS4b, 1GB ext4 partition made with MiniTool Partition Wizard. Just noticed this while backing up "Could not mount sd-ext. sd-ext backup may not be supported on this device. Skipping backup of sd-ext." Anyone know what the problem could be or how to fix it? I think I read that CWM creates an ext3 partition when you use that so maybe that's it, or the fact that I used windows to partition? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Never mind found my answer here, seems CWM doesn't support ext4 on the Blade.

Use your AmonRa (supports converting to ext4 without losing data, as well as a backup ext4)

Hi! I had the same issue a few days ago. Even though my sd-ext is in ext3 i was not able to backup it in CWM. The only way to solve this was to mount sd-ext in CWM before doing a backup. it worked for me. cheers.

Then ask for support ext4 if I'm not mistaken. The latest version of a CWM does not support ext4 and therefore does not make backups. You do not mount SD-EXT, though he should do this procedure automatically.

Converted to ext3 and it's working fine now. Is that sebastian404's CWM build? Also what are the advantages, if any, of ext4 over ext3 and is it worth going back to 4.0.1.5 for it? Thanks.

Ext4 support huge volumes of disk and file sizes. Restriction on wheels - a exbibyte, the maximum file size can be 16 tebibyte. While these dimensions are not required, but in the future may be useful;

Extents. Way to increase the efficiency of working with file descriptors. This reduces the time required for removal of large files, and various other things;

Persistent preallocation. Most file systems on the application request to allocate the requested space is filled with zeros on the disk. Ext4 enables to allocate the space at once, without delay, thereby improving the performance of certain databases and multimedia applications;

Delayed allocation (delayed allocation). Ext4 can delay allocating disk space for the last time that a positive effect on productivity;

Ext3 supports 32,000 subdirectories. In Ext4 all restrictions are removed;

Write checksums in the journal and as a result, high reliability;

online defragmentation;

recovery of deleted files. Not yet implemented, but planned;

quick check fsck;

nanosecond timestamps (timestamps). Time to create, access and modify files stored more carefully, and the maximum possible time increased to 25 April 2514, against January 18, 2038 in Ext3.
