Guest bunnymyhoney Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 Morning all! I upgraded the op system on my San Fran last year using froyo-flb r10 with no problems at all. Recently I have been getting messages on my handset saying the SU Binary is out of date. I've tried updating it and using the fix Chains has authored, but to no avail. ANYWAY, to the point in hand; I am just about to upgrade my husband's San Fran to the same ROM as I am running. I've rooted his phone but decided to hang fire on loading the ROM because he too is getting the same SU Binary out of date message on his handset. My question is, am I OK to go ahead with flashing the phone and dragging it up to 2.2 (obviously after making a full back up) or is this going to brick the handset??? I am super nervous because he has been nagging me for ages to get on and upgrade it, and now I'm half way through. If it were my own device I wouldn't be so bothered :) LOL
Guest rob945 Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 No it should be fine without upgrading the binaries, tho I've never had an issue on upgrading them. Would it not be better to jump up to a 2.3 ROM? I'm running Moldovan Mile High right now and it's pretty fast and gives plenty of /data space.

I wanted to stick him on the same rom as I am using for continuity and so I can iron out any problems (I struggled to get giffgaff sms & mms working when I upgraded last year and it was a bit of a faff), but perhaps I should upgrade myself to 2.3 and then bring him up on on the same. oooh - decisions, decisions!! LOL :P
