Guest Josh92 Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 Thanks guys, forgot link2sd can delete system app too, only tried in file browser. Working a treat now, shame you can't open apps with it as far as I know, not that it's too necessary
Guest Redstarr1 Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 It seems like with every update I do, my memory shrinks. Practically all my apps (except widgets and themes) are linked to my sd-card, but since updating to 31-05, Link2SD says that I'm using about 200 mb of my data partition, so I've only got 40mb of free space. With 26-05 that was still 48mb and before that probably a bit more. When updating I only format system and wipe dalvik cache. Could it be that the data partition is getting cluttered with files from previous builds? So maybe I should do a full wipe to regain some memory? Or is this kind of memory usage normal.

Guest Josh92 Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 Couple of questions, Apollo decided to lose all its album arts, any ideas how to retrieve them? Also I use SwiftKeyX but since update everytime I restart phone it changes the default back to stock, any ideas why? I'm sure it didn't used to do it.

Guest Josh92 Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 morning. the album art not to sure, but with swiftkeyx, freeze out android keyboard, which will leave swiftkeyx default :)Hiya, What exactly so you mean by 'freeze out'? This is how the menu looks at the moment.
Guest hugobosslives Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 he means go into link2sd or titatium and freeze/uninstall the stock app. then it will make the swiftkey the default for Apollo. mine does that too. but if i let it have wifi/internet it pulls them down in seconds.

Guest plegdroid Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 on a custom update, but to do with cfx lockscreen, we may be having centered clock on lockscreen, just got to fettle a bit more, but I now know what moves it, spoiler more to follow :)
Guest Redstarr1 Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 Ahh of course, great thanks guys, as for album arts, mine still doesn't seem to receive them with Internet. Yes Apollo is a piece of junk. It gets album art from Last.fm instead of just using the ID3-tag of the song. Apparently the Play Store-version of Apollo will get more options (right now it only has the option to change your theme, which doesn't even change the hideous white widget), including where the app gets the album art from, but that version will also have ads. Actually I think it's an outrage that the CM-team uses a music player that does less stuff than the default music player. Getting album art from the ID3-tag is something every other app does, it's complete nonsense that you require an internet connection for that. So I ditched Apollo and put the previous music player back. It's nightlies, it'll probably get better, but right now it's far from good enough for everyday use.

Yeah not too keen either, got a couple of nice things (search) but otherwise, meh. Don't like the menu, takes ages to scroll that way. Alright, may have to swap to another, any decent 3rd party ones about?

Guest razzmataz1478 Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 FYI Apollo gets its album art from id3 tags, not sure why it says last.fm to be honest
Guest Redstarr1 Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 FYI Apollo gets its album art from id3 tags, not sure why it says last.fm to be honest I'm quite positive that my ID3-tags are all okay. Maybe you're using a different version of Apollo? The one that got built in CM9 got fewer options than the earlier versions (because those are going to be in the ad-supported or premium market versions ...). The album art isn't the same as the one I set for my songs with Tagscanner (on pc), every other app shows that properly, not Apollo. I wouldn't mind if Apollo would save those pictures somewhere, but it needs an internet connection all the time, seems like it only gets images for the artist you're viewing and if you scroll those images are tossed away immediately. Those downloaded pictures lag as hell, a bit strange to see Metallica with a picture of Robyn if I scroll a bit too fast. I just decided today to get rid of Apollo so I haven't tested many alternatives yet. You can always restore the music player in previous builds (if you've got the system space for that). I just downloaded Google Play Music. Haven't got an account that lets me stream, but I prefer just saving my music on sd-card anyway. I don't mind that some people try to make money of CM9, it's their work so they should get something for it. But I have a problem with people cutting out necessary functions, or making 25 paid themes that only change the colour of the letters somewhat (talking about Sonny Sekhon's themes in the market, okay they only cost 77 eurocents, but they're all identical).
Guest razzmataz1478 Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 No sorry you're right it does get them from last.fm
Guest metal.mickey Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 is it possible to modify/edit the lock screen app ( currently set to camera)
Guest Redstarr1 Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 No sorry you're right it does get them from last.fm And I'm sorry about the Apollo-rant :). I just don't get CM's move there. is it possible to modify/edit the lock screen app ( currently set to camera) Yes, open settings and then select "lockscreen", under "Appearance". The last option lets you assign apps to the unlock-circle (don't know what it's called in English, basing on what it is in Dutch, I'd say "Lockscreen shortcuts"). That'll open a screen that looks like the lockscreen, if you slide the lock to one of the dots you can assign an app and also choose an icon.
Guest Josh92 Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 never had any problems with mortplayer :)Looks okay, I'll give it a try, there's actually so much choice! Found some good ones but they don't have the lockscreen controls which I used a lot. Still having issues with the keyboard, now no keyboard appears after reboot and have to go and reselect swiftkeyx even though it's already selected, may try reinstalling. Also really like the 'use menu button to unlock' option but find its really hit and miss as to whether it works.
Guest metal.mickey Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 does anyone know how to get the battery icon to shower a percent instead of a half filled battery? Great ROM and super smooth. Battery life is good and GPS workin fine. INfact no probs encountered as of yet. MM

MM Settings ---> System (under Interface) ---> Status Bar ---> Battery Status Style You may have to select Percentage, select a different one, then select percentage again. In case it doesn't show up the first time.

Guest Josh92 Posted June 7, 2012 Report Posted June 7, 2012 Think I may have asked this before but not sure what the answer was! Is there any way to 'backup' the widget info to save having to add them again? Same goes for DPI value/mount scripts. Even without wiping anything all of these disappear/revert. Not sure if Titanium or something has the option (at least for the widgets).
