Unlock OMC with custom firmware

Hi chaps,

I think I made an err. I got all excited and flashed the phone using the TPT clockworkmod method and have now installed the AtomicMod firmware. But i have just realised I forgot to unlock the phone. When I try to follow the instructions they do not work. I cannot seem to flash the recovery.img and reboot to get the FTM screen.

Have I messed up the sequence? And is there a way I can fix this and unlock my phone?

Yeah I have tried and looked through several threads but they are rather old and from what I can see there are several different ways of doing it. I am looking for advice on what is currently the best option.

From what I can tell I need to put the stock from back in. But dunno which is the one I should use. And does it matter

You could use the stock Orange TPT to put everything back to the start. Then you will have FTM mode and can do the unlock.

It is a little difficult when some of the posts are quite old and they seem out of date as newer methods have come along for flashing/rooting and doing most things to the OMC.

I downloaded the GB_BP_P743V1.0.0B01-update_signed.zip and intend to use that so return the phone to stock. I have an Orange Monte Carlo, will I have any problems with that?

Also do I need to use the TPT flash guide to put it in or will clockworkmod suffice?

Sorry for the noob questions, I have spent hours reading through all the threads. lol.

There's a tpt that will return your OMC to stock. I'll try to find it for you once I get home. Flash that and it'll remove clockwork, which is what you need to do. Then unlocking should just be a formality.

I have looked at that thread and downloaded the Orange Monte Carlo FW, but then there is the list of all the stock roms here...

I have no idea which one to use?

Does it matter as I am only looking to restore the recovery partition so I can unlock it, then I will reflash using the TPT clockworkmod and custom rom.

Just flash that tpt, follow the unlock tutorial, then flash the tpt with clockworkmod back....

Did you have any luck? I had a good look for the 'all in one' tpt I used to return my OMC to its factory state, but frustratingly couldn't find it. Sorry.

Yes sorry. I thought I had posted a reply. Thanks for the help.

I downloaded it from the links above and got it back to stock. Unlocked it and then reflashed it.

Very happy with it now :)
