Guest hoss69 Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 Hey, and thanks in advance. Using activesync I initially got carried away and selected loads of folders in Otlook on my PC to be syncd. I realised that this was cumbersome and so unchecked a load of folders so that I am now only syncing a few. My prblem now is that the phone still has all the old folders that I synced originally and I can't find a way to remove them so that I just have the few folders that I am actaully syncing. Does anyone have any aideas that might help me? Thanks a lot, Hoss.
Guest madu Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 Outlook will sync the whole 'folder structure/hierarcy' of your PC Outlook. I never sync my Inbox. But I forgot to untick that option the other day after hard reset and it synced all the bloody folders so when I clicked 'Show Folders' in Inbox it would bring up one *messy* screen!! What I managed to do is remove folders from my PC Outlook *default* data file called 'Personal Folders' and temporarily put them in another data file. Syncronise - it removes all the extra (my own) folders and keeps the Inbox. Then disable Inbox sync and move all folders back to their original location on my PC Outlook. What I suggest you do if you use Inbox Sync is: - Create a folder outside (!!) of Inbox (same level as inbox is, not _in_ Inbox) - Move all the folders that you have in Inbox to that 'new folder' - Call the folder preferable starting with any letter in alphabet after S so it puts it at the bottom of the list in 'show folders' - Syncronise!! Do I make sense?
Guest hoss69 Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 Now I understand. Shame Activesync doesn't just recereate the folder structure necessary for syncing instead of the lot. I've moved everything I don't want syncd intot a new folder called 'Inbox - no sync' at the same level as 'Inbox'. It's name forces it below Inbox in the list so that on the SPV, the folders I want to look at are all at the top. It's a workaround that works well enough. Thanks for your help. Hoss.
Guest madu Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 NP. But since you don't use it at all why not call it xxx or Tmp and put it at the very bottom. Just a thought..
