Guest Ali Zain Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 i am using atomic r8 on zte skate.. i want to overclock my cu. is there any harm in doing overclocking and what is the optimum frequency i shoud keep. thanks.
Guest Anthony1989 Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Only harm with overclocking is when you do it to high. 921 is a stable speed but people have reported up to 998 speed
Guest RaTToX Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 On my Skate with R9, 960 MHz is stable. Never crushed until now.
Guest apofizek Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Hi, on my Skate 960 Mhz stable. I have Ice Armor 3 ROM.
Guest hugobosslives Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 just increase in small steps (and then test by using intensive app/game) and see if it crashes to find your optimal speed. everybody will have a different stable max
Guest timfimjim Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 just increase in small steps (and then test by using intensive app/game) and see if it crashes to find your optimal speed. everybody will have a different stable max Once you've found the highest stable clock speed, go one or two settings lower. If you get a crash because you're overclocking too high, it's not good for your CPU and will decrease the phone's life. That said, if you're not planning on having the phone more than a year I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just take care of your phone and it'll take care of you
Guest eLJay Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 (edited) It will depend on hardware and also depends on which ROM you use, Using Ice Armour III+ I could run mine all the way up to 1036 MHz but dropped it down to my normal 998 MHz as the back of the case started to get a little warm. Okay so how can I make an upgrade on the cooling on my phone? - visions of huge liquid cooling tank attached to my phone ;-) LJ. Edited March 8, 2012 by eLJay
