Guest Victor von Zeppelin Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Not much to this one. Android 4.0, Samsung Galaxy S II, March 10th. Get Kies ready. Don't expect a massive design overhaul, though. From what we've seen, the update's going to look very similar to Gingerbread. Full details can be found here. UPDATE: So it seems Samsung have backtracked on this, blaming it on the Filipino website. Interesting because the announcement was worldwide. Below is the (badly translated) Tweet from Samsung Korea. QuoteLet you know that the upgrade from 10 Galaxy S2 ICS Samsung Electronics website Filipino ascended to the post wrong article are not true. Once the upgrade schedule is confirmed through twitter let me. Ah well, I guess SGSII owners will have to wait a bit longer for an ICS upgrade. Guest hecatae Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Is it Kies only? The linked information suggests it can also be done FOTA, firmware over the air, though it states it's a large file, so over Wi-Fi would be advisable.
Guest QLF Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 I assume this means that I'll have to flash back to a 'supported' firmware / kernel etc before I can do the FOTA / KIES update?
