Guest masterpfa Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 (edited) Hi just throwing this out there as I have tried a few apps and method to try and get Play Movies to play on my Galaxy nexus without success. As we all know rooted phones cannot play movies unless something like Temp Root remover is used, now this works fine on my Nexus 1 and HTC Desire HD, but as yet no success on the Galaxy Nexus. Has anyone had any success with this phone using any other methods? Edited March 9, 2012 by masterpfa
Guest Simon Williams Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 VPlayer works fine for me - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.abitno.vplayer.t - plus it has H/W decoder, which is nice for the GN.
Guest Deathwish238 Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 Have you tried MX Video Player? Works well for me
Guest masterpfa Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 (edited) Thanks for your replies, but I have no problems playing videos on my phone, just unable to access Movies from the Google Play Market. On my Nexus 1 and Desire HD, I can use "Temp Root Remover" to bypass this, however this doesn't work on the Galaxy Nexus. It's not a problem currently as I have reverted back to 4.0.2 Stock ROM installed via Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit, however a solution would be appreciated so if ever I decided to try a custom ROM I could still utilise my phone to it fullest Edited April 5, 2012 by masterpfa

Guest malcontent510 Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 There is a beta of the VLC Player over in the XDA forums. It's compiled from source into different APK files, which were created from different types of processors. It is a project being maintained by an individual who is not affiliated with the VideoLAN project, and although it is still in beta it works quote well for me.
