Can't input unlock code

Orange’s instructions for entering an unlock code say that, after inserting an non-Orange sim in the phone, a text entry box will appear where I can input the 16 digit code. But I can’t get the text entry box to appear. I’ve tried pulling the battery. I’ve also tried entering ###825*09# , *983*8284# and *983*865625# on the keypad ( found after a google search), but no luck. i'm running Ice Armour 1. Is there anything else I could try?
