Orange San Francisco TFT or OLED, Gen1 or Gen2

Hello, I just bought a Orange San Francisco and I want to flash it.

After Reading on the net ive got confused because after dialing *983*24474636# in dialer it says I have:

LCD Information:

IC: HX8369

Glass: TRULY

Resulotion 480x800

Does that mean its gen 1 or gen 2 and is it TFT or OLED?

I used MrPigfish and he says that I have a Gen1 model...

But ive read somewhere that its a Gen 2, anyone help?

The build no says 0B10.

Can someone tell me if im gen 1 or gen 2 and if im OLED or TFT, i wanna flash the phone asap.

want to flash the phone and before i do i wanna make sure i have the right spec so i can get the correct rom. Please help, cheers.

PS - Id also be grateful if someone can push me in the right direction of how to sucesfully flash phone once i know what the spec is. Thanks

Did you buy the phone in the u.k and what colour is the phone if white 100 per cent tft. And all uk San Francisco 1 are all Gen 1.

In about phone it says Android 2.1 -update1

In settings about phone at the bottom it will tell you what u r running if your phone is white I can say 100 per cent it is Gen 1 tft. seem as you never mentioned you're phone colour. I can not use my phone codes to verify. But version should be Gen 1 tft as very little olds left unless year old stock. That is eclair Gen 1 and pig fish also verifys

Just looked in about phone, At the bottom it has build no: which ends in 0B10 then above that it says Kernel Version 2.6.29 zte-kernel@zdroid-SMT.

Any good?

Looks. Not like a new phone it's a modified Gen 1 unpdated was the phone locked to orange network or unlocked.

Just done some more searching you have a Gen 1 tft screen. The best guide to following is

OLED's are Samsung. Tft's are LEAD or Truly. Mr. Pigfish does not lie, If it says you have Gen1, it's gen1. If the phone is white, then you have a 100% TFT.

100 per center Yes possibly when unlocking they put a debranded rom on but it is Gen 1 tft and most Rom's support old and tft mine is old and never had a problem with lots of Rom's I have tried. Konsta has an all in one Swedish snow Rls5 tpt version that will convert your phone from Gen 1 to Gen 2 regardless of the type of screen and is a very easy to use good stable rom. Just download it extract the folder called image and put on the root of the sd card. Power off the phone take the battery out then hold the volume up button and menu button together then power on. You should see some green text after which it will automatically load the rom when finished reboot system. Easy peesy lemon squeesy. Google if you do not understand and make sure you download Swedish spring rls5 TPT version. Very Important.

Also before doing this make sure your phone is rooted and recovery installed again VERY IMPORTANT!

Swedish Snow RLS5 is the rom yes, although it has been updated to RLS6 today. KonstaT is the person who made the rom.

If you go to the roms and rom customisation section,you should see a thread called Swedish Snow RLS6. Look in there and read the first post. Go to the part about the all-in-one TPT installation, and follow the instructions there.

Once you have followed the advice in the above. When you get to the part about choosing and installing a rom. Just copy and paste link

Find the file it will probably be in your download folder.Open the file it will be a zip file called Swedish spring rls5 TPT. Open the file and you will see a file called image. Copy and paste this to the root of your sd card. Not inside any folders so you can see the image file along side all the other files on your sd card.After that put sd card back in your phone. Press the volume up+ button together with the menu button keeping pressed whilst powering on you're phone. You will see some green text but that is not always the case. After which your phone will automatically load the rom. Once it is finished press reboot system this is done by pressing your home button. That's it. One more thing to remember make sure the download was successful by checking the md5 sum best way to do this is to download md5 sum checker app on your phone and load the said file onto it Swedish Spring RLS5 TPT the sum you are looking for should be

41518715918ACB655E5496C2B5E06038

That's about the best information I can give you if you still do not understand it might be best to gain so more knowledge before trying.

Just 1 last q, once I have flashed phone do I have to keep updating it, as and when an update is released, or my phone will play up?

You might want to update it, but it's not required. You'd have to update manually.

Blade buddy I followed the instructions and it worked 1st time. I know have Swedish snow Rls6 working and it's so simple it's perfect for my mom.

One more thing to remember. You should now delete the image file as should you accidentally press the same buttons you might tpt your phone again. Also if you download another tpt you're phone will not know which one to use. Glad everything's a success and enjoy the forum J

In the future you might want to have a bigger system partition when trying to instal cold fusion or any ice cream sandwich rom. For this you will need to download a larger TPT . I have no doubt you will soon understand what I am talking about as you follow instructions better then most I have tried to help in the past.Search the forum and Google , and soon I will be asking you for help. All the best and I hope your mum enjoys the her new phone.

Don't no why I keep on doing this but looking back on this thread I keep on saying Swedish spring instead off Swedish snow. A big apologize to Konsta for being so dyslexic. I MEAN SWEDISH SNOW.
