Question regardin Android download manager

Can anyone recommend a good download manager for the Zte Blade?

The one that comes built into CM7 based roms always gives me trouble, including on the stock browser. File sites like mediafire, when I click on download, I see the browser address changes to what appears to be an ip address and then the page will just refresh.

I have tried this on multiple browsers and its very hit and miss with refreshes 9 times out of 10.

I use DOWNLOAD ALL FILES from the market. Has always been quite good but recently with medifire it has been a little hit and miss. I do a lot of downloading straight to the phone as no wifi on my home P.C. Another app I find quite useful is CLIPPER it lets you manage your virtual clipboard better. Saving links instead of bookmarking pages. You can always try and see what you think as they cost nothing.

I use a combination of opera mobile and fasterdownloads; opera usually picks up the download fine, if not, fasterdownloads takes it and uses multithreaded downloading as well.

I use opera mini at the moment, is mobile much better. Opera mini doesn't handle downloads at all really.

Mini is just an image viewer with a proxy on the other side, not even a real browser... On the other hand, Mobile has the same Presto engine as the desktop version, so everything should work just like in a desktop browser.

Opera servers compress AND render the page on the server side, mini receives nothing more than a couple of images, and the location/action of some specific UI elements like textboxes.

It doesn't say that it's an image Viewer because it isn't. When you send a request to a server it's tunneled through opera's server's where js is executed and the the resulting HTML + CSS files are simplified and packaged into an OBML file (Maybe Opera Browser Markup Language? I'm not sure) it's similar to html except that the images are packaged inside and that it's simplified for opera mini's rendering engine.

No conversion to images is involved. In fact if you think it trough it would be a truly awful idea to do so. Try this:take an image of the Google homepage than compare the size of that with the size of the html source: I can guarantee that it's way smaller than the image.

Nem tudom miért írnak képet. Ha belegondolsz mondjuk ez a topik ráfér 4 képernyőre. Ez a blade esetében egy 480*3200-as méretű képet jelentene. Ez jóval nagyobb mint maga az oldal. Ráadásul ahoz hogy szöveget tudj innen másolni azt is tartalmaznia kéne a fájlnak illetve az oldalon belüli helyzetét is. Akkor meg mi értelme van annak hogy képként mentsük el az oldalt. Arról nem is beszélve, hogy sok java telefon nem is tudnak ekkora képeket megjeleníteni (pl sok wikipedia cikk 20-30 kijelző hosszúságú is lehet.)

Végeztem egy kis házi tesztet:

Chrome normal oldal: 280 kérés, 2,32MB

Chrome mobil oldal: 118 kérés, 1,8MB

Opera mini teljes oldal: 1 kérés, 569KB

Nem véletlen olyan gyors. A telefon csak az opera szervereivel kommunikál azok végzik el a kemény munkát (Js) majd a kapott oldalt lebutítja és a telefonra küldi. Az OBML formátumú fájlba belepillantva látható hogy szöveggel és képekkel vegyesen can dolgunk, azonban ha az oldalon nincs kép akkor a fájl is csak szövegből áll.

Hasonlat? Talán titkárhoz lehetne hasonlítani. Kérsz tőle valamit ő pedig megcsinálja anélkül hogy neked kéne a reszfeladatokkal törődni.

Vagy talán az IKEA butorokhoz. Nagyjából ugyanazt kapod mint máshol de kisebb csomagolasban és ezért olcsóbban. A hangsúly a nagyjábólon van.
