rom not finished.radio is not working /bluetooth is not working/wifi seem to work/camera-video is not working/gallery is working bad/video playback:audio ok but black screen.../reboot in recovery:working.../big big audio sound: no audio process in system/etc.../fps2d test give:17 fps stedv=4.27/neocore is rendering the city but it is slow and not smooth...score=04.3 fps/volume button is not working/

i stop here the test.:D

how can they relase such bad rom in cyanogenmod.com?

dr.flo and pier (sorry if i forget someone) could really but really propose cyanogenmod the rom they have done...and they can be proud

of what they have done.;) ...i understand that cyanogenmod team has a lot to do...but it is better to make/propose good work.

will try to make that rom work for fun...

edit:this rom is booting quite fast:+-40 seconds.and animation is good and speed.might be worth to test libhardware_legacy.so from that rom to others...

edit2 doing the 15 ril+qmuxd from pier cm7.2 make radio working.adding libril.so from pier11 cm7.2 make network scan working.

adding in system/lib/egl libGLES_qcom.so (pier cm7.2) +adding in system/lib libEGL.so (from same pier cm7.2) make the city rendering and score=19 fps with neocore.

Great testing :)

Let me just share history of that cyanogenmod build.

First of all "cyanogenmod team" is NOT working on u8220 rom build. Worked on that rom individual people, just one to be precise - TomG. He did what is currently in cyanogenmod source tree for our device.

No one else is working on u8220 branch in cyanogenmod after TomG.

So if you see "new build", that simply mean fresh "build" of the SAME u8220 device tree. So rom is no much changed - only common part got updated.

It is based on .29 kernel, as Tom left it.

Our (my/dr.flo/dtox125/and others) rom is an evolution of TomG work. Major changes: .32 kernel, cameras work.

ok.thx for information. what is the way to add kernel 32? would it be done just by adding /replacing files?

or is there some tricks with boot image?

look into dr.flo's .32 update archive for his cm6 roms. It'll give you idea what is different b/w .29 and .32 kernel set ups.

take entire .32 boot image...

when i first install that rom quite nothing was working... after doing the 15ril+qmuxd and rebooting i could notice the green screen bug was there but only one second or two...so i think that is a clue to find out which lib is causing the green screen bug...:)

what do you think about my supposed clue?

not sure it could be figured that way,

what interesting, is that the bug still there. So no sense to recompile our build yet.

Hello everyone, I felt the need to say that we should not bother with this or any other official rom from cyanogen.

Pier's rom is all that you need. But I had one issue, my wifi was disconnecting on a regular basis every 30 min. It recconected fine, but that was really annoying. So here is what I did and now I found a perfect rom for me and my search is over. I took dtox's cm7.1 rom, pier's boot image from cm7.2, replaced some libs, added camera stuff, wifi stuff, updated some apps, and flashed it to my phone. I have to say, stable, no fc's, fast enough, wifi great, battery life good, everything is working as it should. One could try doing that, instead of wasting time on this.

Best regards.

May be that's the way we should go with our cm7 to achieve more stable build.

To stop chase latest and greatest - cm7.2 RC0, but revert to release cm7.1

This way we will loose some fanciness of latest developments, but might achieve greater stability instead. As didije reported.

Here is a rom link. I will add soon gapps link. You have to understand that I customized it to serve my own needs (I always use golauncherex, even though it's quite large, oldest and greatest touchpal keyboard with all signs displayed - I don't need to search for :)(;?!,.' just need to slide down on letters :)), there is no gallery apk, you need to install e.g. quickpic from play store. Speaking of playstore it will appear when you add your google account. So wipe everything, format system, install rom, gapps and boot :) I use it oc-ed to 710 with animations turned off.

Gapps link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ns6bdwaar3d95w3/gapps.zip

Dark Tremor apps2sd already included in rom.Regards

Couldn't agree more. I tried to completely implement your .32 kernel into cm7.1, and so far so good. We should try to achieve the best from cm7.1, because we really can make a stable and complete rom out of it.

Camswitch from dr. flo also works, if one misses the front cam.

"stuff in system/etc/firmware" must be for the older driver. The latest driver should not use that, but rather "stuff" in /system/wifi

EDIT:

the older driver itself ar6000.ko is also not needed in /system/lib/modules/* if present there.

instead one in /system/wifi is used

I must have forgoten to remove those. Good catch. My wifi is working great regardless :) I didn't do anything just added system/wifi, hardware_legacy, wpa_suplicant and wpa_suplicant.conf
