If I've understood you properly, You haven't read the thread properly. Atomic-mod is pre rooted and the root tut is only for stock roms. Flash atomic again through clockwork and you should be alright . Sorry if you're on about something different.
Guest Mub6 Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 Well I downloaded TPT helper from the android market, and did the all in one. when I got into recovery i flashed atomic mod. that all worked fine. then i proceeded to root, not only did this not work, it also knackered my wifi. I reflashed atomic mod and the wifi was fixed but no root access on subsequent attempts. Then I tried a different approach I flash the stock tpt and rooted the phone the conventional way using the Johnny Hung package. That successfully rooted my phone but when i boot into cwm recovery, it just freezes. I can't move up or down, the only thing I can do is make the menu items appear and disappear by pressing the power button. Tried installing cwm again by the same method and nadda.

Guest Mub6 Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 I've reflashed the stock tpt again now. I'm gonna try doing it all again. Which cwm do you recommend I install? And if you could link to it I'd appreciate that.

Guest Mub6 Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 hey ho got it fixed. I simply installed the cwm in the stickies.. the first time I tried i used the cwm that came with the johnny hung package, that installed version 5 point something. Thanks allot tilal.
Guest jcmyall Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 It might just be me, but as a rule every time I go to flash a custom rom on my Skate I ALWAYS make sure I format /system and /data in CWM 4.0.1.4. As a result I don't run into any problems apart from the stuff the dev(s) has pointed out as not working properly yet.
Guest Mub6 Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 alright. So I managed to get it to work. installed superuser and cwm then flashed atomicmod r11. I'v wanted to flash a 288mb internal memory tpt for some time now so i went ahead with that. Afterwards when I reflashed the atomicmod r11 rom, my phone became unrooted and obviously unresponsive to the rooting procedure. What do I do? :S

What do I do? :S you need to make sure there is enough room on the system, atomic needs at least 150mb, possibly 160mb on R11 all custom roms are rooted already root is removed if you flash a stock rom
Guest Mub6 Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 could you explain that again? All custom roms are rooted but if you flash a custom rom then the root is removed? Ive rooted a zte skate before and i went backwards and forwards between cm7 and atomic and root access always remained..
Guest razzmataz1478 Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Just a note. You don't need to flash superuser to flash cwm. You don't need super user if you're flashing a custom rom, they already come with root

Guest Mub6 Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 you were right. it wasn't working because r11 was bigger than 157mb. I put r13 on it now which is compatible with the 150mb system partition and all is well once again. Thank you folks!
