Problem with speaker

Hi there,

I've recently come across a problem with my phone, the speaker is really tinny and sounds like its set too loud even on the lowest volume, you can hear the sound peaking when you get a message, low battery tone, music and anything else that uses the speaker.

I have no idea what's caused it, it all began after I installed Atomic R11. I did my first TPT via tpthelper off the market, I used skate1b.zip which is 2mb cache, 150mb system. I tpt'ed and then installed atomic via clockwork, I then restored all my apps and settings with titanium and this is when I noticed it, I though it was a rom bug and waited for the next rom.

I flashed r12 when it came out and the issue was still there, so I titanium backed up my apps only and tried CM9, first I tpt'ed to 30mb cache, 200mb system and then installed cm9 through recovery, restored just missing apps with titanium and the speaker issue was still there?

So I've wiped and tpt'ed again for atomic r13 and the issue is still here, and it was present before I restored any user apps, so it can't be rom based because I've tried 2 different versions and different t revisions.

Its either something to do with the tpt, or something titanium is somehow bringing with it?

The only things that have changed since this issue has been the roms and clockworkmod has changed from the forum version to the modaco version, both v4's

I'm sorry I've written an essay on this :P but I wanted to make clear everything I've done.

Any suggestions?

I think I've created a case of TL;DR

To sum up, since a tpt and rom change, my speaker is "set too loud" and sounds distorted on any volume setting, changed from and no improvements :(

Bump, anyone know how to change the speaker levels? Eq doesn't help, if that's on or off it still peaks, any deeper ways to mod speaker volume? Or has my speaker broken?

Bump again, still had no luck fixing, I've formatted the whole phone and SD card then flashes atomic R13 and the peaking is still happening,

Its embarrassing when I get a call because its so distorted :(
