Managing contacts in adroid

I was wondering how you guys manage your contacts. I'm new to android so I'm trying to find a solution for this since I want to have as much details as possible about everyone, without duplicates, and with a high res picture for display on the new Ice Cream Sandwitch.

I was trying to manage everything inside gmail but the pictures are just thumbnail size so when opening in the new contacts view, it totally sucks...
