Guest leningrad. Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 (edited) Hello. Yesterday I bought my sister's old ZTE Blade (it has only been used for two weeks). The first thing that was on my mind was to root it and install a new rom. I followed the cyanogenguide but my rooting seems to fail between the fourth and 8 step. I can't manage to get a # when i want $. So i guess my problem is that i can't exploit it. I have tried Kallt-kaffes version of z4root, but after a while it's sending me back to the startmenu and when i start the program it's all blank and after a while the OS asks me to force the shutdown of the program. The universal androot doesn't ork either. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and my phone is a gen2 if you ask mr.pigfish. ;) (android 2.3.5) Usb-debugging is of course enabled. Any help is greatly wanted and if it already exists a similiar thread i apologize. Ps. I am thinking about reseting it. Do you think that will help? Edited March 25, 2012 by leningrad.

Guest leningrad. Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Don't meen to sound harsh. Are you sure it's not a San Francisco 11 model or zte crescent. I am sure since i have the box next to me. I found out that the guides are outdated for android 2.3.5. Used fastboot and cvm instead and installed CM7, everything worked fine until the bootup. I can do everything but i have lost my signal. Came to this page http://techfestmagna.blogspot.se/2011/10/no-signal-on-cyanogenmod-71.html and i guess that is my problem. I have tried to search the net for basebands version but can't find anything. Id i check the baseband version in the phone it just says unknown. Do u think you can help me? Since i solved the first problem the moderators may wanna lock this thread.
Guest bladebuddy Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 (edited) Its just you said my sisters old blade only been used for two weeks. Well if its running Ginger bread and the phone was bought in the u.k. Its either already been rooted and a rom installed. Or its a San Francisco 2. Might help a little if you say the country originally the phone was purchased. 2.3.5 is Ginger bread. All uk bought zte blades are eclair 2.1 and that's a fact mate. Guest bladebuddy Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 ZTE Blade - MoDaCo - MoDaCo Wiki - MoDaCo Just done some searching and there's nowhere in the world a zte blade original orange San Francisco comes with 2.3.5 as stock android os. So the only conclusion I can come up with is what's already been said. Check out the wiki above if you dont believe me. Unless there has been a new release without anyone on here knowing about it. Very doubtful.
