Guest Roph Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 This is brilliant. Opera just updated their Opera Mini for android app with full OpenGL ES hardware acceleration, and it's insanely smooth. If you've never tried Opera Mini before, now is definitely the time to give it a look: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.opera.mini.android Try going to a huge / heavy site like the verge, it's still 60fps scrolling around and zooming in / out  :o
Guest De@n Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Scrolling definitely feels a lot smoother.
Guest oxyg3n89 Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 (edited) looks like for mini only. but browsing has never been so smooth before! very good, reminds me iphone3's stock browser hardware acc. experience. opera grown up! Guest axebarauna Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 (edited) Opera mobile have it for long time. Even big sites work very smooth. Check out in Google for this Edited March 29, 2012 by axebarauna
Guest plegdroid Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 not sure if opera mini next already had it, dosnt feel any quicker than next, but thanks for the heads up :)
Guest Xanderwufu Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Wow, Opera is now really great thanks for the heads up.
Guest JudasLucifer Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 I started using Opera Mini Next about a week ago, and at the time it was much faster than Opera Mini. But I will re-download Opera Mini and Compare :P

Guest Laccnow Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 This is the smoothest experience I had with my Blade so far, good work Opera guys.
Guest squidlr Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 The new hardware acceleration has made it even better though, amazing improvement for smoothness. If they spruced up the UI a little then it would be even better. Some of the icons look cheap and nasty.
Guest shmizan Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 If Opera Mobile had this... I really hope they add it to this too..
Guest deksman2 Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 Lol... I was already using Opera Mini... have to say that the previous versions also produced a pretty good experience, but this one definitely tromps it all. Now we only need for the Android UI to do the same, and voila.
Guest Ron=) Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 Now we only need for the Android UI to do the same, and voila. It's been done! The ICS Roms avaliable have OpenG hardware acceleration enabled resulting in a much smoother UI! Check out ColdfusionX!
Guest Xanderwufu Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 Is it me, or a pages like facebook and google loading a little different from other browsers?
