Guest DirectCollect Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 From 100 % to 50 % battery level the drain rate is well behaved. However from 50 % below the drain is very fast, even if the phone is idle. (I have a system monitor app that shows there is nothing rogue running the battery down.) The discharge rate might not be linear with voltage level, but this should be taken into account by the Android system power manager. Does anyone know any tips to better calibrate the drain meter? For me showing the total battery time left instead of % voltage from max capacity would be more useful. Thanks,
Guest brookergray Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 The total battery time left would fluctuate several hours sometimes every second.
Guest felystar Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 Have u tried to do the calibration tutorial?
Guest DirectCollect Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 Have u tried to do the calibration tutorial? No I haven't. I did a search for calibration here, but I can't find a link. There is something in the blade forums which mentions resetting the battery stats in clockworkmod, but I don't have that -- just the stock ROM. Do you paste in the link you mean please?

You might want to look into installing Clockwork Mod. Even if you decide to stick with the stock rom clockwork mod has its uses. Failing that... Try letting the battery drain completely then plug it in and leave it charging for 6 hours.

Guest jcmyall Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 That has absolutely no effect on Lithium batteries. No. But it allows Android to try and calibrate itself with the battery.
Guest brookergray Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 (edited) No. But it allows Android to try and calibrate itself with the battery. Do what? It doesn't need calibration as it reads the voltage information. Edited April 1, 2012 by brookergray
Guest jcmyall Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 Do what? It doesn't need calibration as it reads the voltage information. Calibration of the reported charge of the battery? I wasn't ever talking about improving battery life. Just solutions to fixing the problem. Which the OP asked for. It could be something about the OP's phone has thrown it off a bit once it reaches 50%.
