Guest Maxsas360 Posted April 3, 2012 Report Posted April 3, 2012 Hi everyone. As you may know I sold my Blade (50 pounds -.-) and got an Xperia play and now I will get a mint Galaxy S as a replacement(Desire HD was another choice, but it's condition is not really good), because the Play was defective. Yes, I know the Galaxy S has flaws, but It's fast, has ALOT of ICS rom's, a huge community, AMOLED screen is just fantastic (I had an OLED Blade and loved it) and will not rip my pocket apart. Thank you all for support. Thank you for all the time spent on our Blade's, for those great ROM's, kernel's and mods. Sadly I'll have to move to XDA. But I will come here time to time.
Guest iKrautDroid Posted April 3, 2012 Report Posted April 3, 2012 Am I the only guy here who didn't make a bye-thread? Traded my blade for a Liquid E
Guest flshg Posted April 3, 2012 Report Posted April 3, 2012 Why not just make a collective thread for goodbyes? IMO people seem to come back anyway, so the goodbye is redundant. Guess people miss the banter of the blade forums.
Guest targetbsp Posted April 3, 2012 Report Posted April 3, 2012 From what I've used of the SGS, they sure will be back if that's what they left the Blade for. ;)
Guest bladebuddy Posted April 3, 2012 Report Posted April 3, 2012 (edited) I am personaly feeling bad about all the people leaving the forum. But I unlocked my crescent today so plan on spending some time over there . Will always be back as this forum is like junior school, as it taught me the basics I needed to know. Just like fledglings leaving the nest , they always want to go back and that's the sign of a good and helpful caring forum. Thanks everyone. Good luck Maxsas360 as I forgot to mention that!:D Edited April 3, 2012 by bladebuddy
Guest JudasLucifer Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 But the goodbye thread is a stable tradition! And I agree, this forum has given a whole lot of people an insight into the workings of android, and it's been a terrific experience! Having been here quite a while I've seen crazy amounts of progress :) Lots of great people have left this forum with a Goodbye thread... think Frankish and errr...that Cornish girl.,.(name momentarily escapes me) . :P
Guest Clitheroe1 Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 How about a "I'm still here thead"? The Blade is the best phone I've ever owned and with the most active online community. I can't see myself defecting to another phone any time soon.
Guest iKrautDroid Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Heck even though I dont have my blade anymore, I come back daily!
Guest Geoff2 Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 I'm a bit concerned by the whole concept of a 'goodbye thread' on a mobile phone forum. I thought that when you got a new phone, you just started looking at a different forum without any fanfare - but maybe I'm being too cold and impersonal. To make amends, tomorrow when I've finished shopping at the local supermarket, I'm going to stand outside high-fiving my fellow shoppers and thanking them for the good times we've had together.
Guest bladebuddy Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 What have you learnt from your fellow shoppers. How to pay for your goods or which pot noodle to buy ?

I think its more like saying goodbye, when you move away, to the people you talk to everytime you shop. EDIT: Just to say: I don't actually talk, or know every person in the shops. But there are some people, that I have mostly a business relationship with, who I would say goodbye to, if I moved away. I don't know Maxxas from adam, but I've seen his comments and his input into the community, and eventually, I would probably wonder where he went. One such example is Steven Harper. If it wasn't for his clear idiot proof guides, I would have never had the guts to flash a rom, in the first place. His gift to this community still remains in the number of pinned topics/guides that are still on here. But, where did go? I don't think he left a goodbye message. Was he cheesed off by all the greedy requests, or did someone insult him, or did he move on to a new phone? I reckon goodbye threads aren't all that bad. Maybe his reasons for leaving were too personal to post, but he was a part of this community for a time and you can't help but wonder what made him go. PS: if someone would do a all in one guide for ICS roms and tpt stuff like Mr. Harper did, it might cut down on all the repetitive questions on the ICS threads now. Guest bladebuddy Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 He must have written another guide recently as I just used one to unlock my crescent and the guide mentions the installation of ics for my phone. ICS has not been around that long for the crescent. So hopefully he's still doing his magic.
Guest dirlan2001 Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 Heck even though I dont have my blade anymore, I come back daily! Yah, my Blade is in use with my bro-in-law for now, but I keep it running LOL Fora like these are 'return to case 1' things... In case of doubt with whatever phone, pop in and have a look around Cheers
