Trouble upgrading Blade ROM

I have searched around but didn't find much that was relevant to my situation. Apologies if there was something I missed.

Hello! I've been trying to upgrade my Orange San Francisco to Android 2.3- I flashed it with 2.2 (Japanese Jellyfish ROM, IIRC) when I first got it last year with no problems, but trying to flash a 2.3 ROM has been a bit of a nightmare.

To begin with, I booted into ClockworkMod (3.0.0.6), cleared the user data and cache and installed a ROM from the SD card (Swedish Snow rls 6). When formatting, it came up with a message stating "No app2sd partition found" - in retrospect, I wonder if this was the start of my issues? Anyway, I thought it wasn't an issue and flashed the ROM- it said it installed but when I go to reboot, it just displays the Android logo then switches off and repeats. I've tried with two different SD cards, with the same result.

I also tried downloading the latest version of CWM and flashing that: I'm not entirely clear on how that should work- I zipped the CWM .img file into update.zip, put it on the SD card and tried to update it via CWM, but that came back with an error saying "Installation aborted"- is there a different method for that?

Currently, the phone will boot into ClockworkMod (3.0.0.6) but when I try and install a ROM (tried Swedish Snow and CM7) it says it's installed then does the same. I've tried the first 3 methods from this thread: CWM doesn't seem to work, as above. FastBoot only detects the device when it enters CWM, and nothing seems to happen. Using a TPT image just gives me green text: "Error! Error! Error!" and hangs. Method 4 won't work as I can only boot to CWM and method 5 is obviously a last resort. I can still mount the SD card to computer via CWM.

Can anyone suggest what I can do here, or what I need to work out?

Thanks!

Just repartition your sd in CWM

OK, does it matter what size the partitions are? I have a 2gb card in at the moment, also an 8gb one kicking about.

Got it sorted out, cheers! Looks like this was entirely of my own making- I could have sworn I had a gen2 device but apparently not. Moral of the story: double check before hand, don't be an idiot like me. Will do a gen1-gen2 conversion at a later date.

Thanks for the assistance.
