Guest cartoone Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 Anyone know how to configure the power widget? (The default setting don't have Mobile data toggle button, but I wanted to add it. I can see it to be added to Notification bar, but not onto power widget)
Guest Dovahpig Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 Great work dude.. to be fair, i would have kept tts and other small items (in ROM) in. If you see the most of the chunk is facetime, bootanimation and ringtones.. (almost 80%). Can you help me in customizing the ROM myself? ok ive just tested my lite rom and it works like a charm, with around 135mb left on system partition after install, its also really fast the thing that doesnt work is my boot logo, so after install and first reboot its just blank screen for few mins until it boots. so if can anyone help me make my boot logo work (one still image) i would appreciate it. about removing tts, its not just its size, it also has its pesky service starting up at every boot. since im from serbia and i dont have any use of it i decided to remove it. i can help you make your own rom, sure ;)

Guest techsolo Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 Dazzozo I read about some tweaks (ea. GPS locking) and I see a lot of people are still finding things to change. Are you going to make a new rom are am I obligated to do all the modifications by hand?

Guest UnbelievablyScrewed Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 Daz, this may sound silly but i think i found an ICS camera that works well. Though now I'm probably guessing it's something to do with the CM9 software being unable to detect the FFC that is stopping it from working. anyway link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.moblynx.cameraics&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5tb2JseW54LmNhbWVyYWljcyJd
Guest Dazzozo Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 I don't think our HAL supports the front camera, but even so I have the front camera safely disabled in the kernel - Android doesn't even think it exists in my ROMs. I will test it when we get everything up and running on Jelly Bean.
Guest duffman2612 Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 Hi there i'm a total noob at this stuff so please bear with me... just installed zip files and rebooted my t-mobile vivacity fires up great but dont seem to have the Google apps or be able to get the Wi-fi to work properly? (I know it's a silly question but it would be the simplest solution) Your system partition may be too small to fit the Google apps in. If you have Titanium Backup installed (it's free on the Play Store) it can tell you how much free space there is in your system partition. No bright ideas for the WiFi problem I'm afraid.
Guest Frankish Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 Do key backlights not work on this? My only issue so far.
Guest kas206 Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) Anyone else getting battery drain with this rom? My battery died overnight It seems WIFI is the culprit. Anyone whats causing this? Edited August 6, 2012 by kas206
Guest cartwheelbob Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 Anyone else getting battery drain with this rom? My battery died overnight It seems WIFI is the culprit. Anyone whats causing this? Why do you need Wifi on over night? Turn it off, or better yet, use one of many excellent apps available such as '2x Battery'. Personally I use this app to automatically turn on airplane mode during the night and switch it off again for me waking up.
Guest MadEye Moody Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) I'm getting excellent battery with wifi off BTW, the keep wifi in during sleep = never seems to have some issues. It will turn of the wifi, but won't turn on. The UI thinks its already on and thus cannot turn on. it stays on turning on wifi... and you have to reboot for wifi to work again Edited August 6, 2012 by MadEye Moody
Guest Dazzozo Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 Yeah, I don't know why that is. Our Wi-Fi is quite hack free too. :( Edit: actually this might be something I fixed accidentally in CM10. I'll probably do a catchup update to CM9 at some point with some bonus fixes that came about in CM10 development.
Guest MadEye Moody Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 I temporarily switched over to CM9. will go back to CM10 at the end of the month. CM9 is not as stable as CM10, random reboots. Is CM10 stable because some features are disabled in it?
Guest MUF DVR Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 Hello, So this is my 1st post about this phone and anything android related tbh. Suffice to say, I am a complete noob but managed to get as far as flashing it and installing this ROM. First of all I would like to thank the makers of this mod and anyone else who has had something to do with modding. Now, a brief and summarised history of my phone; I decided to tally ho to China and omw to the airport spent my last dole money (seen as £s won't be useful in China) on a ZTE Crescent (SFII). I have had great fun wiping the stock ROM and installing this, however have surmised that the following errors are in place; 1. The back LED flash doesn't work 2. The front camera isn't functioning. That's fine, but, just being a complete noob and no disrespect to the makers of this mod but is there a ROM for this phone where all this sorta stuff is in working order? Also, I thought that maybe I could download a torch app and shine it in people's faces as I take photos of them but this doesn't seem to be working either. And finally, I cannot seem to connect to the Chinese mobile network 'CMCC' (China Mobile) with my Chinese SIM card. I haven't tried it with the other Chinese network, China Unicom, yet. I know there's 2 networks in China see? But I'll try it later if I can. Or perhaps I still need to unlock my phone? I bu zhi dao (I don't know), as the Chinese say. I would be most indebted if somebody were to assist me with these issues!

Guest MadEye Moody Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 @muf-dvr The issues that you reported are known and the modder (Dazzozo) needs proprietary components to make those work The OSF II would be locked to Orange network and cannot be used with other networks without unlocking There are a few posts in this forum about unlocking the OSF II. Note that you will have to get back to stock (original) OSF II ROM, which has FTM instead of the clockworkmod recovery in order to unlock the phone You will need a windows system to unlock the phone. Guides : If you are having difficulty in downloading files, use this link You can follow the "Unlocking Your Phone said:" to unlock your phone and then install any ROM using the method you followed for installing this one.
Guest MUF DVR Posted August 9, 2012 Report Posted August 9, 2012 Thank you Dazzozo and MadEye Moody for your prompt replies, I didn't realise I would have to unlock my phone before I installed my ROM! Thank you for the guide, I will use it to unlock my phone as soon as I have figured out how to revert back to my stock ROM, I'm just researching that at the moment. I see you have a ROM available with Cyanogenmod 7, perhaps if I installed a ROM that was a bit less snazzy there might be a bit more functionality in the devices, ie. torch/flash etc? Thank you for your work, I might be well inclined to donate but at the moment have little functionality in my phone! :] To unlock it would be a start and I'll get there eventually though I presume!
Guest Dazzozo Posted August 9, 2012 Report Posted August 9, 2012 If by little functionality you mean near to no camera then okay. :P Torch will never work on this device. The flash isn't capable of it. The flash works on CM7 but on no ROM can you use it as a torch.
Guest MUF DVR Posted August 9, 2012 Report Posted August 9, 2012 Oh well, that's ok cos you can use an app to make the screen white to serve as a torch and take pictures at night using the flash! Sorry to take up your time with these paltry issues! Is it possible to use the front camera on Cyanogenmod 7, I wonder? Thanks!
Guest Dazzozo Posted August 9, 2012 Report Posted August 9, 2012 Not yet. I've never had the time to really look in to the front camera again. After CM9 Jelly Bean came so fast and it's been a bit hard to get the time to look at it.
