turning your phone into a wifi router?

Hello MoDaCo community!

I was wondering is there a way to turn T-Mobile Pulse into a wifi router (to increase your home wifi range e.g.)? I know that there are apps like barnacle wifi tether, android wifi tether etc. but they always use my data connection for tethering instead of my wifi connection. I am not interested in USB tethering, just wifi. So if anyone has an idea how to accomplish this I would really appreciate it.
