Hi All,

I have recently purchased a Tablet - so i want to connect to the 3G on my phone when im on the go. I googled some stuff up and apparently this "Barnacle WIFI" app lets you make your phone into a portable hotspot.

Sounds great! I have installed it on my phone, and i can see the network on my computer and connect fine. However it doesnt let me browse any websites?

I use windows 7 and it shows me as having "internet access" yet when i go to google i get "server at google.com not found" e.g no internet.

Ive searched for a fix but non that related to the ZTE Blade / Orange San Fran.

The only thing i can see is that i get an error saying i need to update my Su Database (?) when i click it i press update and then it fails on "Checking MD5 Checksum"

Thanks,

Will

your ZTE Blade phone already has this feature built in. you don't need an app.

settings -> wireless -> tether / wifi hotspot I think.

The android 2.2 or higher version blade has built-in wifi hospot function, you can update your blade to 2.2 or 2.3.

The way to update:

Log in ZTE official website:http://wwwen.zte.com.cn/en/, choose Support------Handset Service, choose the country and model type , download and install the update software to update your blade.

Please read the upgrade instruction and backup your personal data before update.
