Guest zmthink Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 The orange monte carlo has been my favorite for three months since I bought it, but recenly I met with a big problem: When I makes a phone call, the screen dims off, which is normal; however, when I finish the call, the screen doesn't come back and stays off and I cannot hang off the call unless the other person hangs off. This problem becomes particularly annoying when I leave a voice message to others: there is no way I can finish the message.... And every time I have to pull off the battery... Anyone knows how to fix that? I'm thinking of warranty, but the fact that I have unlocked the phone myself may voilate the condition for warranty. So I hope I can find a quick solution here. Many thanks!!!

Many thanks!!! Calibrate the proximity sensor, there's loads of threads with this (known) problem...look...
Guest Jeff 66 Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 If you can't get the proximity sensor to work (mine doesn't using CM7 and none of the fixes have worked) , go to the accessibility settings and tick the "power button ends call" box. Then you can end the call by pressing the power button.
Guest C3C0 Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 I suppose he is on stock ROM. So the quick solution would be: 1) Dial *983*0# - this will open service menu 2) Go to Sensor menu 3) click "calib" to calibrate proximity sensor
Guest zmthink Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 (edited) Many thanks!!! I tried the calibration while after that it says proximity fails... And then I activate the setting to use Power button to end a call. I don't know which one helps, but it seems working now. I'm sorry to post this thread similar to those already posted. I should have come here more often Edited April 12, 2012 by zmthink
Guest C3C0 Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Well, the proximity sensor status reads "Fail" when you access the Sensor menu but it should change to OK as soon as you cover it by your hand.

Guest Jeff 66 Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 There is now a proximity sensor app in Google Play that you can download. I've found the app in Google Play but it says "This app is incompatible with all of your devices."
