and 100 in shop if you do things right. I said I already had a new Vodafone sim and credit and was waiting for current Credit to run out before switching. I also said the phone is locked to Vodafone anyway right? just for added effect to make it think that i was a bit naieve

My mate works in Voda shop so he just sold it without topup but they do have POS in the windows stating mandatory £10 topup.

If this is true, are there people who have bought it off the website for just 100£ no mandatory 10£ topup and can confirm that please with maybe a proof to show?... Sorry for being inappropriate and rude asking for proof :P ... Cheers...

Yes I ordered mine online the other day and got it delivered within 48 hours! There was no top-up required!

Nice, thanks for the response, anyways I was just wondering, I was just messing around at the time and noticed the mandatory 10£ topup wasn't being added to the basket, so I thought I'd ask anyways... Also if these cashback sites do actually work and we get a free unlock working like for the OMC or a free IMEI unlock code generator like for the OSF and we get ICS from the HUAWEI or Custom ICS roms from devs, then I'll be very tempted, but not until then!... Though I'll continue to keep my eye on the progress for this device... Laters!... :D

people here have nothing to gain lying about the cost of the phone. If it's a new member, than caution would be advised of course.

Sebastian404 has released a cwm recovery as well as a Vodafone debranded rom and Paul has rooted it so dev has already started.

I've just ordered one from Vodafone online (no top up added at checkout so only £100).

I've had an Xperia Play since christmas and have been missing the Modaco forums after coming here regularly when I had my last 2 phones (an OSF and OMC).

Really glad to be back.

That's what i love about these cheaper phones too. XDA just isn't the place to be for me. Paul has built a great community here at Modaco. I was here when the Blade forums first started up and then the Skate too. I left at times when i got an SGS2 but came back eventually!

That's cause the price is quite good for the reasonable specifications your getting, and it can be unlocked easily, also the hardware is unbranded so no vodapuke logo

Probably but I think anything under ten quid is still really reasonable! And the phone is much better than my monte Carlo. Screen is nicer, camera is slightly better. It feels quality in the hand compared to a monte carlo too.

I could not justify the change with my Mrs, the omc was a present from her,after a lot of badgering from myself. anyway iam liking the omc, coming from the racer I feel spoiled with it.

I am going to wait to see how much the ZTE Mimosa X and Era will cost first, especially as i have only had the OMC a few weeks. Can always give to family member though when i upgrade and the OMC does all i want it to at the moment with the IPlayer and flash working on it. The competition between Huawei and ZTE for the best value for money phone can only be good thing.

I just bagged one via my GFs upgrade. tenner a month and a free fone.

She got her claws on my SF2 about 2 weeks ago as her first android phone so shes happy with that and i get a g300! wont be retiring the OMC just yet though.

Well, bought one today (got paid friday).

Luckily, I know one of the guys at the local vodafone branch, got an unlock code thrown in for good measure for free , then found out I didn't need it.

Just looking forward to a new rom, when it gets developed.

Earlier today had a chat with a salesman at a Vodafone store who was pretty clued up (a rarity, I know!) and he shared a very interesting bit of information with me. Apparently the update to ICS will be coming much sooner than expected and in fact by the end of next month. As always I take that with a grain of salt but it could make the phone even more appealing...

Hi guys,

Bought one for my misses a few days ago... it's a nice phone for £100 I must say... the fact that it is so easily rooted, unlocked (albeit at a cost) is a great advantage.

Also, the amount of support for this in the first week has been awesome, it's like many were waiting for it's release! I gota give it, I've found most the answers I'm looking for on this forum for any fixes, tweaks, etc. I mean, you hardly need to tinker with this phone for t to do a good job.

I say support is great because I've seen big names on here; the likes of Paul, Sebastian to name a few!

The performance on this phone is indeed commendable; I've been using BBC iPlayer, without having to mess about at all with the system (including Flash 11 support) and I think it's very impressive. I'm comparing it with my iPhone 4s, not HD I know but excellent value for money... full stop.
