Titanium Backup PRO: won't detach apps from market

Hello,

So I decided to download the pay version of Titanium Backup so I could detach some apps from the market (or Google Play). Actually, there are some apps I don't plan to update such as Youtube. I was fed up of receiving notifications about new apps update and when I checked, Youtube was on the queue list.

I thought Titanium Backup would help me. I manage to detach the app from the market and it works fine. But a couple of hours later; the app is back on the list of apps-to-update in Google Play.dry.gif

Seriously, I'm so mad! I paid 5€ for Titanium PRO and it doesn't do what I expect from it!

I wrote to the Titanium team but got no answer.

That new google play update sucks. As well as showing you system apps to update that the previous one didn't it seems to show pretty much every crappy free app you've ever installed under 'all' rather than just those purchased like the last one.

Not sure why you don't want to update but if it's for space on data partitions reason you can download the updates and integrate them into system to recover the space.

I've never tried the detach apps option myself.

I don't want to update Youtube because the new version doesn't let you listen to music when the screen is locked. And that actually sucks unsure.gif

Actually I have 2 games I don't want to update because the update adds notification bar ads. I'll try detaching them and see what happens!

I've just been ignoring the updates so far.

You can opt out of those ads. And write angry emails to developers telling them to.. well t have intercourse with their mother.

It's not actually airpush, they just spam the notification bar with their own advertising on launch in the latest version. I stick to the previous version, dropped my review score and as punishment blocked their in app ads using the permissions thingy in CM7.

Unfortunately the app still has a really high score. They were devious in giving away a very good game for free and then adding more and more aggressive advertising as time went on by which time it already had masses of downloads and a good score. And too few people are changing their votes. In fact plenty still seem to be voting it 5 stars for some reason.

No you didn't. TB is best backup solution for Android.

But you could try mailing the dev instead of whining and adding 1-start comments.

The dev can't help. It's a limitation of Play 3.5.

I tried re-installing Play 3.4 and it autoupdated to 3.5 despite the market updater being disabled so I wonder if updating is built into Play now making the market updated in gapps redundant?

Titanium has many, many great features beyond that. It's probably the best value for money app I'd ever bought and I'd never even used that detach feature until this post. :)
