I do not see any protective cases yet available for the G300?. There are a few leather jobs from US and a sock or two. Has anybody seen any yet. The phones are a wee bit on the slippy side.

Yep seen a few of these sock type cases about. I am after a clip on hardshell or even a silicone. A nice skeleton shell to protect main edges and give a bit of grip. I find the sock or pouch type are not that easy to use when phone rings bit i suppose it is personal preference. Cheers.

Please don't leave your phone lying on the dash. If it goes flying, your automatic reaction is to try and save it. Also where is it going to go in an accident, hurling around the inside of the car

Yeah it is a slippery sucker, I think it will take a couple of weeks or so for some case makers to start production, that's what happened with the orange monte carlo anyway.

You can actually get them in a number of shops, but what I like about this one is the holder can spin from portrait to landscape (when you want to use it as a sat nav) and the clasp can widen a huge amount. You could use this for anything from a ZTE Blade to a Samsung Galaxy S2, perfect for people like me who change phones a lot.

I got I think it's the long arm one i got , got it out of asda for £5.99. Shakes about a bit.

Don't know if it is any good yet, but like the idea of the microfibre on the inside to help clean the screen.

When the SF came out, it took 3 months before decent protective cases were available. I just went with one for a different phone that happened to fit, and a few cut outs fixed the different connector positions.

Is there any phone with the same dimensions? I think the 4" diagonal is a new development, so it may not be that easy.

just had a brief look at other phones on gsm arena. The nexus one and htc desire are the closest size i have found. I wonder if cases for either of these phones can be bodged to work with the ascend

mine went flying twice. But our car has a slope that goes the opposite way due to the stereos display been there. But I pulled away abit quick. But I did not try to catch it. I even laughed the second time it happened.

My local poundland sells screen protectors for the iphone 3.

Would they be big enough?

I have a faux leather pouch i bought off ebay for the orange san francisco which is a really tight fit but it does the job.

No. The G300's screen is slightly wider, the cut-out for the speaker is in the wrong place and there's a hole for the iphone home button that is uncannily right where the home button is on the G300

I wouldn't put one of these screen protectors on an iphone, they really are cheap materials, but what would you expect for 2 for £1?

Goodfella you smart little cookie!

Dug out a old iphone 3G rubberised cover and it fits....sorta.

OK this phone is larger than an iPhone, but not by much, so the hard cases won't work the the poundland rubber one have enough stretch to cover.

Main points of order are:-

• The bottom of the phone is exposed (as that's where Apples stupid connector goes)
• The volume buttons seem in the right place
• The headphone hole is slightly off (my headphones work fine but I think its because the rubber on my case is not too thick)
• The power button is covered and you can tell the case is pressing on it now and again.
• The camera lens is completely covered and will need a new hole cut out.

I've got an old Samsung galaxy ace silicon case and that goes on. Seem ok, just a pain cutting out the bits for camera and mics and speaker and volume.

Also got a old Motorola atrix case which is a what I call jelly case. And that fits very nice. But cuts outs again a pain.

I use a jelly case on my U8800 and it's been really great, you lot should wait until one appears for the U8815

Just got iPhone 4 Soft Silicone Case From the £1 shop it fits Will do until there is a better one on the market.
