Guest rabaip Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 (edited) I got my new blade about a month ago and right on the very first charging, I noticed it got crazy effing hot after a minute or two. I put a temp meter on the screen and it was 40 Celsius. Ever since then, I gotta resort to USB charging cuz I'm afraid the constant heat will kill my phone. I'm aware that the wall outlet puts out about 1000 mah and the USB 500 max. Is this a problem with my device or is this common? I asked Vodafone but they said it's completely normal but their customer support sucks so I dont trust that opinion very much. PS. My phone functions perfectly aside from this issue. Hi there, well, my ZTE Blade doesn't get hot while charging! Neither my sister's nor my girlfriend's Blade, nor my "new" 2nd hand Blade (we have 4 of them).. It only gets hot while on intensive game playing (which I do very rarelly) or during phone calls (after 15/20 minutes of phone call). Why do you say that your Blade gets hot? When you touch it is hot? Or are you relying on the temp measure on a android widget, or something like that? I must confirm, but I think that in charge, I also get battery measurement temperatures of 40ºC, but the phone is cold (normal temperature).. João Ventura
Guest samprice Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 my blade also gets stupidly hot after charging from the wall, but i've been charging it that way since i got it (some time in august) and it still seems to be running fine.... sometimes it gets so hot its almost to warm to hold

Yes, I physically touched it and it was hot, that's how I noticed it at first. I dont use any battery widget cuz I already got percentage from CM7 and other measurements like temp are inaccurate from battery sensors.

Hi again, well, as I said, I've 4 ZTE Blades to take care of, and none gets warm on charging using the wall charger.. Do you have access to another Blade? Maybe it is your charger.. Or try with another wall charger (a generic one) to see if it is your phone.. Then, having it on the warranty, change what needs to be changed.. João Ventura
Guest Maxsas360 Posted April 20, 2012 Report Posted April 20, 2012 Mine did when I loaded it alot (benchmarks, games...) and I was an OC fanatic . Well it heated at about 40 celsius, not a pleasant experience, but It was fine.
Guest adizz Posted April 20, 2012 Report Posted April 20, 2012 Mine heats up when charging with wifi on.
Guest Davidoff59 Posted April 20, 2012 Report Posted April 20, 2012 I am pretty sure the standard charger that comes with the Blade puts out 700MA, not 1000MA as stated. The phone gets hot while charging and whilst say viewing Youtube videos at the same time. When standard charging alone, it gets warm but not hot.
Guest FrankieADZ Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 ive got a another new-ish white Blade and the temp can go between 30-69c when its just on...even with power saving on & the temp tends to lower when its on charge. is that normal?
Guest T3KO Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 Mine gets kinda hot too (using original charger) and when I tried to charge my Harmony Remote the batteries were close to exploding ;)
