Guest swys Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 (edited) Ok so I have a standard 2gb MSD card in my zte blade I have booted into clockwork recovery and made a 1gb partition with 0 swap size which leaves me with an unused 1gb of space. I mount the sd card with usb and it appears in windows explorer size 1gb, but where is the other 1gb ok so I thought I will make another partition so I go to manage disk management and I can see the other 1gb unallocated space but can do nothing with it? so my question is what is this 1gb unused space for? and why can't I have that as an extra drive? Why don't I just create a full 2gb partition and have full 2gb? why should I partition in first place? am confused lol Edited April 19, 2012 by swys
Guest ColdEmbrace Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 I'll start with answering your last question first. If you don't know why you should partition then you probably shouldn't do it at all.

I understand about microsoft windows partitioning I just don't understand how the android storage works?
Guest swys Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Am I right in thinking the other storage space that isn't accessible is Linux and used for the android to install apps etc... on?
Guest swys Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Ok I read about it and not really something that is worth while I won't be wanting to install tons and tons of apps etc... plus i don't have an ext sd card reader so aho!
