Whats the best budget Tablet to buy?

Hi Guys,

I own the wonderful ZTE Blade (aka, Orange SanFran)... I also own an HP Touchpad 32Gb, but I maybe looking to sell it soon. As it has developed a slight hairline crack near the speaker (which most of them appear to, due to manufacturing defect). Apparently HP will repair it for free... but from what I heard, its not uncommon for it to happen again. So may sell it whilst its good.

However, I am looking for a replacement Tablet... One that will be roughly as good as the TouchPad in spec (hard, I know) but not in price.... I am looking for a fairly cheap (£100 - £200) bracket and not the high end £300/£500 end... One that has a lot of Development/ROM support both officially and 3rd party...

Does such a thing exist, and if so...? What are you going for?? Would be great if it had removable storage too...

Cheers, Lister

Thanks for asking this..I also am looking for a tablet..I do a lot of travelling and have been using my Ubuntu Notebook for getting online..however the advent of these ultraportables got me thinking of getting one to replace my notebook (upwards of 5lbs, it can sure get heavy after a couple of hours of carrying it around and you need a seperate bag for it as well) but don't want to blow my wallet, too..

Get a Xoom, OK yes bit more expensive, got mine for £280 from PC world. But for that bit extra you're getting an amazing tablet with great specs, great community, we have AOSP nightlies along with CM9 nightlies, and it was announced a few weeks ago we're becoming official with CM9. We also have AOKP. We have official ICS released. There are loads of custom recoveries (with touch support). Best buy I've ever made, would recommend it to anyone

Same like Vega, with touch recovery. The difference between Xoom and Vega is Xoom has back camera.

These look pretty decent for the money.

ARM Cortex A8 1.2GHZ + Mali 400 DC

- 1GB RAM + 8GB Flash

- 9.7" IPS Touch Intuitive Multi-Touch Capacitive Screen

- 2 x Cam + HDMI + WLAN

- Android 4.0 ICS

Edit: bleh, thought it was dual core CPU turns out its not.

Already got Hyundai A7HD..came with ICS and rooted out of the box..already have CWM and flashed AOKP ICS and works great! 7 inches of IPS panel at 1280x600, 1Gb Ram..Allwinner A10 works okay and Mali400 gpu keeps up with some HD games..downside is 8Gb internal memory (microsd slot and supports USB OTG though) and 3200mah batteries that last for 4-5 hours continuous moderate use (about 3hrs if gaming)..but at 180 USD (DHL 3-day shipping plus customs tax) approximately I couldn't complain more at the time (though at the time of writing Hold-X model comes with JB and Rockchip dual cpu and quad mali400 gpu is at the same price).

thanks for your input guys!
