Guest Mark Dearlove Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Sony Tablet S owners can now join the Ice Cream Sandwich party and enjoy the tasty goodness the update brings to the device. Sony finally pushed out their update nearly 5 months after confirming the Tablet S would be getting ICS.

Owners will receive the notification the next time they connect to a WiFi network, according to Sony. Additional features unlocked with the update include the ability to gain direct access to media on the SD card, an enhanced lock screen and some 'Exclusive' apps - a calculator (wow!), browser and remote control.

Quite honestly a lot of these 'enhancements' should have been available in the Honeycomb release.

The full list of enhancements:
Enhanced lock screen
Direct access to Notifications
Unlock direct to camera
New panoramic camera mode
Enhanced Gallery media viewer
Direct SD card access + photo editing tools
Exclusive “Small Apps’ for multi-tasking
Calculator, Browser, Remote Control
Move to screen edge for reduced clutter
New Home Screen actions
Drag icons together to create folders
Add names to folders
Enhanced web browser
Switch from mobile to desktop web sites
Save pages for offline viewing
Access files directly from SD card
Native screenshot capture by pressing "power" and "Volume –"

Sony have also released a video on YouTube:

Source: Sony

This item was promoted to the News page - click here to view.
