Guest todoleo Posted April 27, 2012 Report Posted April 27, 2012 Motorola have announced that the GSM RAZR MAXX will be available in the UK by mid-May. Availability has been confirmed through retailers such as Clove, Expansys and Amazon, but no word yet whether any UK networks will be selling the device.

The Motorola RAZR MAXX is the slightly thicker sibling of the last RAZR - 1.9mm to be precise and has a much beefier 3300 mAh battery. According to Motorola the RAZR MAXX manages an impressive 17.6 hours of talktime.

The phone is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and has 1GB of RAM. It has 16GB of internal storage and this can be expanded with a MicroSD card up to an additional 32GB.

The screen is a Super AMOLED with a 960x540 (qHD) resolution. It's a pentile display again which was a dealbreaker for many with the last RAZR phone. Side by side with true HD screens such as the Galaxy Nexus or One X the difference is going to be pretty stark.

The 8MP snapper on the back has a 1.3MP counterpart on the front for video calling in 720p.

While a device with such great standby and talktime figures is welcomed, the need for a bigger battery is mostly a reaction to the RAZR cell being fitted rather than replaceable. The issue is even more pronounced on LTE networks where battery life is further reduced.

Keep an eye on our news section and we'll let you know when the RAZR MAXX is actually available to purchase.

Source: Motorola Mobility

This item was promoted to the News page - click here to view.
