Guest lol looool Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 is it possible to run Android C# (XobotOS) on BLade? GitHub: https://github.com/xamarin/XobotOS Project: http://blog.xamarin.com/2012/05/01/android-in-c-sharp/
Guest brookergray Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 Well no apps support it and the developers did it as a proof-of-concept so a better question is: Do we actually want this right now? I think it's a clear no.
Guest equiliym Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 that would actually ease google with all the patent sun is talking of stealing regarding java lol.. however i dont think its smart at the moment
Guest Sulthekk Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 Sure. Run away from a patent troll company to run straight to another company which has patents for filenames longer than eight characters!
Guest Nick Rhodes Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 (edited) Sure. Run away from a patent troll company to run straight to another company which has patents for filenames longer than eight characters! No they dont. They hold a patent for a mechanism used to store long filenames on FAT filesystems without breaking compatibility with old applications. vFAT which is in use in most modern Linux kernels has a different implementation. https://en.wikipedia...long_file_names and http://www.desktoplinux.com/news/NS4980952387.html Cheers, Nick Edited May 4, 2012 by Nick Rhodes

That didn't stop them from attacking android with it. http://www.unwiredview.com/2010/10/03/microsoft-vs-motorola-what-exactly-moto-is-getting-sued-for-and-what-does-it-mean-for-android/
Guest fonix232 Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 I would like to see it. As a C# programmer mainly, it would be a great experiment, plus, as the project site says, the whole Mono-based thing runs faster than Java (thanks to dropping the limitations of Dalvik, plus P/Invoke) Will try to drop together a device tree as soon as I get the hang of the new layout :D
