DELETED ALL LAUNCHERS - and now I can't install one! I really need some help, please :(

it was really stupid of me to even do this but I deleted all of the launchers that were on my phone and now I just can't seem to use it.

I have the MoDaCo ROM installed on my phone and I've tried wiping everything via the CWM boot up menu. I've even tried installing GO Launcher via the google play website but that doesn't seem to work. I need a way of either completely wiping the phone or just installing ANY launcher just so I can actually use my phone :(!

I'm currently stuck on the call screen (after you hang up it just goes black for a minute, that's what I have). I know it works because a friend called me not long ago :/ so it's frustrating that I can't do anything else on it. plus my 3G is on and I can't turn it off so I'm going to end up having no credit ;|

any help would be such a blessing

either instal your rom again. it will install all the system apps again and you will have the default launcher.

or push a launcher app file (the apk) via adb to your phone (into /system/app). then reboot

someone else recommended the ADB but I just have no idea how to do/use it :| and I look on the webpage and it just confuses me

Create a CWM flash file with just a launcher apk. You could use a premade one for flashing a theme: open the zip file, copy a launcher apk (e.g. from your modaco rom) to the system/app folder in the zip, remove all other files (don't touch the meta-inf folder), copy the zip to your sdcard (perhaps with an sdcard reader on your computer), then flash it, reboot.

Here is a zip for you to flash through CWM. It contains a launcher app which should be installed when you flash it.boot into recovery, go to advanced and then mount SD Storage. On your computer, get this file and open up the SD (you have mounted it so it should be on my computer). Copy it to the root of your SD. Then install zip from SD card from the menu of CWM and choose the one you copied over. Hopefully it should boot onto that launcher.

Let me know if it works, because it may not work and I may know why. I have a fix if it doesn't work.

This page http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1599332 has an easy-to-use 'Quick ADB pusher' which does not require any coding for the app push. I'd accidentally deleted the launcher on my phone. Fortunately I had a backup of the launcher on my sd card. I used the ADB pusher successfully to push the launcher to /system/app Edited September 7, 2012 by AAA2000
