Text from Orange on unlocked, modded phone. Confused!!

Got my Orange Monte Carlo on Monday. I unlocked it straight away and put in another operator's SIM. I then rooted, clockwork mod and installed a new ROM. Did all the cache/partition wiping etc. first.

Then in the afternoon I got a welcome text from Orange. When I unlocked the phone, I put the Orange SIM in another phone.

Why didn't the text go to that phone? How did it get to the ZTE with a different SIM? Do Orange still link to my phone's IMIE?

Well, it's an ORANGE Monte Carlo.

So, I'd say so..

As long as the universe hasn't imploded in on itself for this message, it shouldn't trouble you.

I still get messages on my old tesco phone running my old tmobile contract.

When you get the phone, you need to top it up. They must grab your details then.

Are you on T-Mobile by any chance? or one of the many MNVO that use EverythingEverywhere use?

Your device will of been picked up by its IMEI number and a new subscriber text generated, regardless of which MNVO your on...

Unless your with O2 or someone totally unconnected with EverythingEverywhere.. in which case it was probably aliens.
