Guest PaulOBrien Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 Vodafone have released an update to their bargain-basement (but rather nice) Huawei G300 device. Tagged as version 'B885', the release is designed to fix the two main complaints with the shipping device - abnormally low volume in certain scenarios and a serious security issue we highlighted. The update is available over-the-air for your device and has been well received by users in the G300 forum - although I have yet to check personally that the security issue itself is resolved (watch this space!) The update has actually been released pretty promptly, we can only hope that the forthcoming Ice Cream Sandwich update also arrives without too much delay. Interestingly, updates later than the B885 release have already leaked, the latest being B888 which, while sadly still Gingerbread, does do without the Vodafone branded bloatware. Guest nadsax Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 Got my phone today and updated it with the release. I have sound but the phone is much less responsive now, especially when swiping the screen. It was far more fast and smooth in operation before the upgrade.
Guest mealy1 Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 You can also update it via wifi internet thats the way I updated my G300 It took about 10 mins to complete, Volume working fine now.
