As much as I like the ROMs at raceroms I would like to be able to build my own to see if I could tweak things and maybe fix the damn compass.

The only problem is I don't know where to start I gather the CM builds are for the ZTE Blade but what exactly do I need to do to make them Racer compatible i.e. capacitive vs resistive screen and different screen resolutions.

Also once the ROM has been compiled how do I zip it up ready for CWM to unpack??

Any links or suggestions would be most appreciated.

you should download cm7 blade sources and download mooncake files from deadlinks github, that will make it easier than to rewrite blade source from zero..

you can see deadlinks racer files here

as you can see, his commit says >maybe something not good but rom booted< meaning there are errors that we all know about like that compass you say in post.. as far as i know, compass error is mostly about sensors which is hw related so imo libsensors should be fixed and lights should be checked too since there are errors in debug monitor even if it appears to work.. i lack knowledge about android devices so i never managed to fix any of those, just made my phone crash :(
