Guest Mahesh Sharma Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 Hii guys I recently bought a Dell XCD35 which is actually an european Blade (GEN 2). Baseband: P729B01 I've been trying to flash via TPT since i am not able to access recovery by pressing vol- while powering on due to more than 10 failed attempts i decided to read more and came across Blade checker app It says its a Chinese blade but where ever I look I find this phone as European blade.. I am confused Am I doin anything wrong? Am I stuck with this 256MB ram? or is it just a false result shown by this app Also TPT Helper detected it as Chinese blade but I denied it, this app never worked on my phone :( Help guys.. I really needed something more than 256MB, thats why i bought this phone for experiments like unlocking and stuffs. If its chinese then how can I install a new ROM, Gingerbread may be.? Thanks in advance :)
Guest Mahesh Sharma Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 btw its showing 166MB ram in taskmanager
Guest bladebuddy Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 btw its showing 166MB ram in taskmanager  You seem to be right about it being a euro blade one thing to mention about ram it will change depending on apps running. Also have you rooted your phone and tried to instal clock work mod, or are you trying the tpt with a stock phone.

I have rooted my device, installed Rom manager and flashed with recovery 5.0.2.0 Yes it is stock rom I haven't changed the rom Also the Ram is the max ram shown in the task manager.. available ram is only 50-60MB usually :|
Guest bladebuddy Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 Well looking at you're baseband number it's the same as my euro orange San Francisco but your ram seems to indicate a Chinese blade. Tried looking on the zte wiki page for more information but unfortunately its down at the moment, so I am a bit stuck on how to help you. But will help as soon as I can, if you don't get help from elsewhere.

Guest bladebuddy Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 Looking on line you're phone only has 256mb of ram, which means it's not got the same as European blades at 500.The Chinese+ India seem to be the same phone. Still don't understand why the basebands are the same but it looks like you're phone is the Chinese variant of the zte blade. On the plus side your phone should be able to use most roms without the need of tpt to Gen 2 so you should be able to flash most roms here without the need to increase system partition size.

Actually there is something "grey" the blades shipped to India, I got a 512MN version Gen2 blade(xcd35) on Froyo, but a month later a friend if mine received a gen 2 Chinese blade 256mb ram. So, looks like they are badword with the users may be to Minimize cost or sth, OP, you could use swap, it nothing works for you. PS- most (may be all) Idea blades were Chinese too>_>>_> Edited May 16, 2012 by viv1m
Guest Mahesh Sharma Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 ok, I have tried installing CM7.1 and other GB roms except swedish snow. tried through Rom manager but failed, I am unable to boot in to recovery by pressing vol - while powering on :( how can I install CM or other roms in my blade?

Guest Mahesh Sharma Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 successfully booted into recovery using adb :D which rom will be better? CM7 or Swedish snow?

Guest droidolution Posted May 20, 2012 Report Posted May 20, 2012 (edited) ok.. thanks I will ask Dell guys.. for that I have to return everything back to stock condition right? yes. u have to restore everything back to stock. by the way if it shows chinese blade, the way to boot in to recovery is to press home+volume up while powering on.
