Guest hecatae Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 Received my one x today, fully charged logged into my existing dropbox account, no 23gb extra welcome email. :(
Guest hassand Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 there are 5 out of 7 steps to complete to get the extra 23 gb. try to find those out. If i remember correct, you should install dropbox on multiple computers, to your mobile, invite some people and such, there are 7 tasks, when you complete 5 of those you get your wish
Guest hecatae Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 already completed 5 tasks, going to complain to dropbox. https://www.dropbox.com/help/249 If you have a brand new HTC phone with Dropbox already installed, you may be eligible to earn additional free space simply by signing in to your account (or creating a new account) from the Dropbox app and completing the steps on our Get Started guide from your desktop computer. completed 5 out of 7, now to complete the remaining 2
Guest loskristianos Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 Received my one x today, fully charged logged into my existing dropbox account, no 23gb extra welcome email. :( If you'd previously used that hacked dropbox apk that was floating about prior to the One X being released to get an extra 23gb on another phone you'll need to contact dropbox to get them to apply the increase for you.
Guest hecatae Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 hacked apk? nope, not used, already reported issue to them via application, waiting for response
Guest loskristianos Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 hacked apk? Before the One X was released someone modified the dropbox app to make it appear that you were using a. One X/Sense 4, so you'd get the 23gb added to your account regardless of the actual phone you were using. Dropbox quickly removed the space from everyone who'd done it and put a block on the space being automatically applied to their accounts again, so quite a few people have had to contact Dropbox to let them know they really do have the phone to get the space increase applied again.
Guest hecatae Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 solution is to unlink every device, delete your account and remake it. got a 50gb box account so will use that instead, far less stressful
Guest hecatae Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 And the support from dropbox has been incredible, got two responses within 12 hours
Guest SarahAston Posted September 10, 2013 Report Posted September 10, 2013 Because of the way they treat their longtime customers, I switched to "Copy" recently and I'm impressed! They give you 15GB of free space - 20GB if you sign up via this link: https://copy.com?r=9IfWjn - with a further 2GB for linking to your twitter account. Basically you start with 22GB and have the ability to earn a further 5GB of free space per referral. The interface is clean, the program works wonderfully, very fast, supports Wifi Sync and AES256 encryption, and they seem to have a client for just about everything (Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android). It's exactly what Dropbox should have been
